I figured this to be the best place to ask. How do ectomorphs/hardgainers burn calories faster than meso and endomorphs? I'm not bitching that I'm an ecto, I can stay lean no matter what I eat. But what makes us burn cals quicker? Less efficient energy pathways that result in needing more energy than normal to function properly? Stomach acids dissolve food more quickly so it all passes before all of the nutrients and minerals can be absorbed? I'm just stumped. Even if you just have a guess go ahead and throw it out there. Those were my main ideas.
 
the ectomorph (typically the small framed, long and skinny people) have the fastest metabolism because they were born with it. Their bodies require a greater amount of calorie intake in order for them to stay they way they are. A sedentary ectomorph can eat 2500-3000 calories and not gain a single pound while an active endomorph(the people on the other end of the spectrum) can eat 2000 calories and gain weight.

Why are some people good looking and some people not so? Why are some people more prone to diabetes, cancer and other health issues? It is in our genes but of course with metabolism there are certain things that can be used to increase/decrease it. Some medication, excercise and so on. As I am sure you know greater muscle mass will increase our BMR (basal metabolic rate).

If we look at a great dane and an labrador retriever (both are dog varieties) but both have entirely different features and patterns..

Similarly we humans also have a lot of differences other than skin and hair colours.

It is the law of nature - law of individualism. I know that this is a much diplomatic answer in a round about way.. but still..with constant nutrition and fitness program you will be able to change the pattern of your metabolism by some 5-15% :supercool
