can this really happen??? everyone read!!

Ok so my friend is going to sell me a driver for golf... he paid $300 and he said he'll give it to me for $40. I told him i wanted to try it out at the driving range to see if i like it. he says ok.

i go with another friend of mine and the first shot i hit with it goes around 275 straight as an arrow. i am like, "damn this club is sweet. i am defly buying it" the second ball i hit was right on target, but the entire club head snaps off and goes about 75 yards while the ball only goes 100 yds, meaning all the energy was still stored in the club head and made it fly far and the ball not. i was like WTF!?!?!?!!?!?!

my friend even said it was a clean hit, not like i hit the ground or anything. so what do u think i should do now??? i never paid the guy for the club yet. do u think i should??? do u think it was already broken and he knew it and that's why he was selling it so cheap??? questions?? comments???

If he's a good friend, I'd pay him the $40 even if you didn't do anything to break the club. He wasn't there to see you swing it, so naturally he'll be a little suspicious- maybe just a tiny bit, but anybody would be. $40 is worth avoiding the tension and hard feelings to me. You can speculate on whether or not he was trying to fuck you over, but you'll never know for sure so I don't think there's much point in speculating.

I busted my driver by taking baseball hacks off the green pad and on my very last ball I caught extra carpet, snap...all done!!!

Needless to say I was very pissed at myself!!!
