Im looking to get a nice watch. Something that isnt too flashy or anything but goes nice with whatever im wearing whether it be capenter pants a jersey or a nice dress shirt and pants. I want it to be silver, round faced, metal strap, no leather. Kind of thick, i think you know what kind im talkin about. Thanks.

Tag Heuer watches are very nice and fit the bill and the look you're after. They have nice models that are very sporty and classy at the same time. I like the link style bracelet that are TAG's trademark look. They range in price from about $800.00 to $20,000 for their more rare models. But for around $1000.00 you can get a really nice watch that will always have the name brand, look good on your wrist even 10 years from now. I think that there are some basics that every man should have in order to look good and sucessfull, IMO aside from great shoes and some great clothes a classy watch is a neccessity. A classy watch is the only piece of jewlery a man can display and not look too gaudy unless the watch is gold with diamonds in the bracelet, too bling bling for my taste.

Also you may look at Movado. They have some very nice models as well. You can always check out Timex and Citizen, where Citizen will give you a very nice watch for about $300-400. The only draw back will be that within a year or two the luster will be lost and it won't go with a suit and you'll be relegated to wering it with a t-shit only, so you'll be in a market for another one again. So just do it right from the start and get a nice one. Most Jewelers will negotiate a price for you with no problems, My fiancee bought me a TAG that was listed for about 2G's and she worked the price way down, then the jewler gave her a payment plan with 0% interest. 4 months and it was payed for. Now 3 years later the watch is still brand new looking, it's amazing just how durable a premuim watch is and it's a real show piece to any outfit, very nice and out of the ordinary but understated at the same time. Hope that helps, as you can see i'm big on watches. ;)

I personally have had very bad experiences with Citizen. I really like ESQ watches, can get a very nice one for less than $400. Even Kenneth Cole's are pretty nice if you are looking to spend around $100-$150.

ESQ is nice. They make Movado as well.

I did not know that. My first "nice" watch years ago was an ESQ for about $350. Still haven't been able to find one with a face I liked as much as that one. Also, in like 4 years I have only seen the watch on 1 other dude. I'll try to find a pic.

this pic does it no justice though. the face is almost checkered, but real subtle. depending on the way the light hits it, it can look silver, grey or white.

For a daily watch - Kenneth Cole or even a Fossil.......that said, I dont wear a watch any of the time...but when I did, those two really perofrmed under wear.....and they were reasonbale

Yep. I have about 5 KC watches. They are pretty clean and classic looking, not too complicated in the face, very reasonably priced and hold together very well.

does Swatch still make watches? joke.. just use your cell phone.. who needs a watch??

SEIKO battery powered Perfetual Calendar watches are straight forward
clean design with no issues with the light/motion auto powered stuff.

This titanium one is clean and simple

see, for me that second one isn't "clean" enough. I think that is why I like Kenneth COle watches so much - there isn't much going on but they still have a nice style to them.

I LOVE my TAG HEUER watch.

I was thinking about getting one for a good friend as a Birthday gift but I saw he wears a Rolex. I guess a man can have more than two nice watches. :)

KC, ass. ANd they may be ladies styles - I just grabbed some images quickly off the net to show examples. I am not gay.

KK KC whatever..
Wearing ladies watches doesn't mean you are gay bro.

lmao. I have a new digi cam and I am going to take pics of my watch collection. They are all "manly". I hear you on the day watch thing. I have a Citizens Eco Drive that I wear when I don't want to impress or get the others f-ed up. I hate Citizens though.

Might not be a good gift idea then. Would you buy a VW Passat for a man who drives a Mercedes E-Class?

I personally like Bulova and Kenneth Cole. Both have cheaper and more expesive versions. They are not the Bentley of watches by any means, but I like their styling.

I know...I was snooping at his wrist the last time I saw him and saw the Rolex. Guess that gift idea is shot....Although, I like my TAG ;)

not a matter of need, it's a matter of style.

Well if that's the case........save your dough, instead of 5 K.C. watches, and buy one good watch, ie: Cartier, Rolex, Panerai etc... A good automatic will last you a lifetime. :)

I just bought a Panerai Luminor Marina....same watch Pierce Brosnan is wearing in After The Sunset.......I LOVE IT.

I think I am just really into selection right now. I hate wearing the same watch everyday or even close to it.

Don't bother getting yourself these little panzy watches every other guy is sporting. Get a Cartier, nothing can top it.

Pasha de Cartier. If you can get a limited edition Pasha, you are set for life.

Blah....maybe if you weigh under 200 lbs. However if you are a real man.. ;) Than opt for the Roadster Chrono, nice and bulky. Or better yet opt for the new Panerai Luminor Marina 48mm wide, or don't cause I have it.....and I don't need to see it on everyones's wrist..... :)

i need a watch....ever since my seiko broke, i just haven't felt like buying one.....i'll probably try out a Kennth Cole or something cheap

Listen Dorian don't make me bitchslap you ;)

I've always hated big and bulky watches. Big and bulky = ick and blah! If you're a real man with style and sophistication, you'd go for a watch that exudes class and perfection. :p The limited edition Pasha's cannot be matched. The previous limited edition Pasha had a sparkling red face with phoenix motif surrounded by diamonds that is to die for. Then again I'm 195lbs, so maybe you're onto something. lol
