Can police dogs smell through coffee?

You're paranoid... (But I'm usually that way too...) As for your gear. If you're really worried about it, then get it out of your house.

When it comes to a bust, they want the source, not someone who has a cycle or three in their house. Considering your situation, they really don't need you for anything. They already have payed a visit to who they wanted to see.

Dogs can't smell gear and if they search by hand, you better expect that they will take everything apart, including your computer.

Well, technically, they can smell anything. Its only a matter of what they're trained to spot. They're starting to train the fuckers to smell ecstasy now as well.

I worked with police dogs for a few years this is true.Make sure you wash off the amps and packs God only knows what could have been with them!

I agree with susoension. Dont take a chance. if they raided his house they were watching him for a while. And they may have seen you paying him a few visits. Believe me, I can show you a copy of the warrant they served me.

The guy who got busted could say that you are his source and sign what is known as a John Doe search warrant..where he signs the warrant saying he saw such and such at your place in the last 3 days (or week whatever it is) and then the next thing you know the cops are kicking in your door....Happened to a bud of mine who bought an 1/8 ounce of weed from a big dealer who got busted 3 days later...being that my bud at the time was a big smoker....he had smoked up all the wee already by the time the cops came...he had nothing...but it still allowed the cops to search through all of his stuff....they trashed his house...flour poored out in the sink...clothes thrown all over the floor...cereal all over the place...and they found nothing.......... so I would still get rid of anything you have..outta the house...and you said you saw a few cops at his house...is he married or have a girlfriend?? It could of just been a domestic arguement.......

dogs arent trained to smell steriods. and yes they can smell through coffee.... thats how they get all those coke busts.

actually, my understanding was that they don't actually smell THROUGH coffee. Rather, the dogs now are simply trained to smell for coffee itself, because hey, who the fuck just carries around a bunch of coffee in your bag. their philosophy is, if the dogs are smelling coffee, there's a good chance the coffee is there to hide something illegal.

Here you go does a dog smell thru the coffee. No Coffee actual has properties that will reset the one's since of smell, If you do not believe me take some coffee put it in a bag and go down to a deptment store to the fragrance department. Smell a couple of sents and you will notice it gets harder to smell the actual sent of the fragrance after awile. Pull out the small bag of coffee and smell the aroma. Now smell one of the sents you had smelled earlier and you will notice that it smells alittle differently. What is the point though, It still will not matter because dogs are now trained to smell for coffee as well and just like with us The coffee that you are useing to mast the smell will also reset the receptors in the dogs nose so it will actualy make the dogs since of smell even better which means that any residue that the dog might of overlooked he will now be able to smell better. Also dogs are not trained to smell for riods but a lot of police can't afford to have dogs that are trained just for a specific task, IE the also use the same dogs for tracking in which case they have your sources stash for the dog to sniff so it is possible for the dog to still look for the roids. This is the truth as I understand it. I was rasied a hillbilly in KY and do know alittle about training a dog for tracking. If you are realy that conserned thou just take it to someones house that you trust and make sure they now what it is and are cool with it for goodness sake for a week or so. That way if they do search what ever method that they use you are safe and will be able to get your rest not being so worried about the whole damned thing. Just my 2 cents
