Asses disconnected my 1-800 # that I advertise in the phone book. Tried calling it today and realized it was disconnected...they must of did it when I moved my service over a month ago. I have lost a ton of business because of this...this is the busiet part of the year for me.

What can I do?

They alos tell me then won't have it hooked back up till the 21st....that is BS! My wife demanded to talk to someone about the lost business and they told her someone would get in contact with her within 48 hours....what a crock! As soon as I get home I am going to flip out!

Yes! Use the Yellow Pages to call a lawyer!

i work for the yellow pages actually... what yellow pages you talkin about??? verizon?? yellow book?? or third party book??

best they can do is refund your money for the ad

but what you are saying is it seems like the phone company that disconnected your 800# not the yellow pages...

Why would they disconnect your number in the first place? I think that it was due to incompetence or a mistake; either way, the Yellow Pages should have to pay. FYI, Yellow Book is better than Yellow Pages.

I have had multiple problems with the phone company over the years.

This is what you do.....bend over and kiss your ass goodbye. Now they will torment you for years with additional "mistakes". There is nothing you can do. The phone companies are massive campaign contributors so they are very well protected.

After they have fucked you real badly, ask for a new sales representative, they are the ones who decide how badly to fuck you as it affects their commission.

Exactly. My local phone company sucks sooooooooo bad. SO I just stoppped paying the bill. Got a few months free service out of it, called som21-900 numbers, then they finally disconnected the bitch. NOw it's all bout the celly and I couldn't be happier.

See the celll peopl ehave to have customer service because they have competition. Land lines are a monopoly so you are fucked. So I said fuck you to the monopoly, thanks to cel phones you'r eno longer needed.

VERIZON SUCKS!!!!!!!

I had it out with SBC on the phone yesterday. I was so mad that I started cussing. They reduced my bill by 25$. Sometimes you have to fight. They gauge people on pupose knowing that the average person doesn't have the time to fight and will just pay the bill.

I just got off the phone. I was put on hold 2X and convientantly disconnected. The run down:

I had a number (243) that I changed to (654)..I have it so the 243 number is automatically forwarded to the 654 number. Well I also had an 800 number that was tied to the 243 number. Well SBC neglected to tell me that the 800 number could not be automatically forwarded to the new 654 number, so it was disconnected without telling me. The thing is I advertise that 1-800 number in the yellow pages for the downriver area (75% of my business comes from here). I own a party rental businesss so graduation season is my livlihood(sp?)....I have not had a number for 75% of my business to access me during the busiest part of the year for me. I have lost thousands of dollars due to this.

Theis answer: Sorry, but we can credit you $59 for your connection fee....I told them no way...she asked what do I want as far as compensation..I told her I wanted to talk to a supervisor about that...she said I can guarantee that if you are talking about hundreds you can forget it. I told her 100's is a slap in my face as well.

So....a supervisor is suppose to call me. They can't connect that 1-800 number until next wednesday so I am out of commission for another week.

This royally fucked my business.....I hope I can rebound. There has to be some way to get compensated for this.

This is what you will get.

there is always some sort of liability clause on services like that where they are not liable for lost business.

Like lets say you are a photographer and you are at the scene of the biggest story of your life and you take a bunch of pictures. You develop the film and find the film is defective. You coulda sold those pictures to any news organization for 1000s of dollars.

Well Kodak is not liable for that, they will only refund you the price of the film.

You dig?
