Is it possible that not eating enough of a certain kind of food able to cause injuries?

For some messed up reason both of my shoulders have been getting sharpe ass pains in the back of the humerus/rear delt area. I have stopped lifting and have been resting for the last week trying to figure out what this shit is. And so on the days that my diet isnt good are the days that my shoulders feel good. I just dont get it. I was thinking maybe I am not getting enough of some type of food that usually wont be in my healthly diet.

Maybe I am just thinking way to hard and I just need to ice and rest.

I dont know, any comments?

You may just need to ice and rest as you mentioned, as it is possible that you are unknowingly aggrivating a minor injury and making it more of a major injury. You should also look at your form in lifting the weight. Any changes to your stance or alignment in the presssing movement can be enough to alter the outcome.

However, nutrition can play a role in how your body responds to injury or functions on a daily basis. Omega 6 has anti-inflammatory properties but only when it is in balance with Omega 3. If your consumption ration of Omage 6 : 3 is high then it takes on a completely different role in that it actually causes inflammation. Most western diets are very high in Omega 6. If you are following a bodybuilder style diet then you will likely be consuming flax or fish oil (Omega 3) on your healthy eating days.
