Camcorder Video to Multimedia Question

What kind of camcorder? Is it digital?
If it is digital, you will need a Firewire card and some editing software.
If it is a regular camcorder, they make some adapters to go from the red/white/yellow plus on the camcorder to a USB port on your computer.

Zacky, my boy, nice avatar.

Thats what I need the cable that goes to USB port.

Its not a digital camera.

I'll check my local joint.
Thanks,
Mike

If you have a Best Buy near your, check there. I know they have them.

what software is required to import though?

Best Buy carries a couple of different devices by Hollywood that will allow you to import from an analog camcorder or VCR, and come with software to do the import.

I *think* Windows Movie Maker also allows you to import.

Dazzle Digital Video Creator 80 is about 60 bucks and Pinacle Systems Linx is about 50 bucks.

These are both at Best Buy. Both adapt through a USB port. I use the Dazzle software. I capture using Windows Movie Maker (found with Win Me, XP). You can also capture with the supplied software, but the formats they use (avi and mpg) create files that are too large. I recommend saving them as .wmv

The only thing these kits dont come with is the RCA cable that plugs into your camera. This should come with Camcorder.

Check this out.
