call from us customs, what does that mean?

I received a message on my ans. machine from us customs to please call Mr...at a given number. it's a local number. I haven't ordered overseas n almost 2 yrs
but I did recieve 2 letters about 2 yrs. ago. it was a small pkg, and I was never contacted since.
Any idea what this means?....I do wu funds to mex. but that's it.

Let it go bro. The only reason that customs is going to contact you instead of just
letting whatever it is through is because they found something they didn't like. They typically won't pursue anything legally unless you try to claim whatever it is they have. There's nothing there to connect you to it except your name and address which isn't legally binding. Anyone could have ordered that and put your name on it.

If curiousity is getting the better of you, you could always call and play dumb just to see what they say. But DO NOT claim to have ordered anything from anywhere. They might try to trick you just to get you down there by saying, "oh, we have this package here that we need you to come and pick up"

Personally I'd be paranoid in your situation. I'd clean house and give them a call playing dumb. Maybe you sould also make a post in the legal section and see if anyone there can help you with your question.

hm. got 2 calls from a 312 area code saying that 'this is not a sales call or solicitation, please contact, Mr. --- immediately.' The thing is, it was only some HCG that they seized coming from overseas. Not sure if this phone call was related to the seizure, but pretty paranoid, i figure i'll just ignore it.

agreed (CLEAN HOUSE). Play dumb and think about every word that comes out of your mouth. It will come back to bite you in the ass. I would even record the call.
Call them back, if you dont, it will only prolong whatever situation that is occuring.
 
what it only being HCG, I doubt they are going to bother you. That is not even a felony, why would they waste their time with a misdemanor?
 
yeah! I agree. Don't piss them off. It'll look like your trying to hide something. Just call them back and ACT STUPID! LIKE YOUR THE DUMBEST FUCK THAT EVER LIVED.
 
Yep, i concur. Call them back and be a concerned citizen. Ask what happened and what can you do to help. You are innocent until proven guilty, as far as they know you may not have known any better or someone could have sent you stuff unsolicited.

Just call and take care of it.
 
I would clean house.. but... not call back. If it is important they will send someone to you. It could be one of you buddies... if its not... tell them you thought it was.
Take a look at Rick Collins site. He has great info on how to deal with police etc. It will help you greatly in dealing with any questioning!

Well the proof lies on your computer. So when you say clean your house I hope you are implying to take out your hardrive(s) and throw them away. If not you shouldn't be telling people this because a computer is all the evidence they need. And theres no way to get rid of the evidence ona computer. Once its there its there forever.
 
i'm no expert, but I've always read that customs letters should just be ignored. why is a phone call any different?

i wouldnt think they'd spend alot of time on a extremely weak case for a nothing "crime". if you dont respond, it'll just go to the bottom of the to-do list and go away.

if you do respond, you can only hurt yourself. they know how to trap you, and anything you say will be used against you. if they had enuf to knock down your door, they would have done it already.

try getting a hold of rick collins- i think he even reponds on one of these forums here or elsewhere- maybe someone can give you a link.
 
i would clean hose and give a call back thats just me i would have to call back because it would just eat me up wondering why they called there is nothink wrong with calling back and it will probably help dpeed up whatever is going on also you will have some idea whats going on just don not admit to anything and deny anything incriminating good luck bro

I wouldnt throw my damn hard drive away. Theres some good progs out there like norton utilities that will overwrite all the empty space in the same format the military does. If you are paranoid I would do it a couple of times. But I can't imagine them wanting to seize your computer.

You could also put a shitty drive in with a new version of windows or linux and run off that for a while. And leave your other drive at someone elses house for a while. I'd put linux just to piss them off in case they did seize it.
 
IF you plan to call them back, be careful what you say. They can manipulate you easily in telling things. They can make the pope say that he has Osama in his Vatican. Good luck, and tell us what happened.
 
A hardrive cost 100$. Now I don't know about you but I would definitely pay 100% to potentially prevent getting fucked. You could give it to a buddy however take this guys circumstances for instance. He didn't reposnd to 2 letters (he was dumb to send to the same address after getting a letter). Two years later that are now reviewing his case and thats why they probably called to see if he will claim it and they can fuck him. They probably won;t bother him again but what if they come knocking a month from now? Then hes fucked and he could have prevented it by throwingaway his hardrive.

As for the norton erasing programs that stuff will not truely erase everything. If the gov. wants you, they will spend the time and recover the info on your hardrive which you "thought" you erased using the millitary spec D.O.D. That shit will deter local pigs but not big brother.
