Anyone here live in Calgary?... What's it like? Is it a nice place to live? Someone told me that downtown Calgary smells like puke.

Calgary is great! I've never lived there, but I've visited several times, and I've always had a blast. Great restaurants, a big fucking mall, lots of differnet cultures, HOT women. I love that city.
I can very close to moving there a while back, but i'm heading to Victoria instead. Calgary would definatly be my 2ed choice.

oh shit... this is really interesting to me and i must know more about why you're moving to victoria. because i hate where i live now and i had planned to move to victoria because of the warm weather out there. then i was in a b.c. chatroom and they all said that victoria is not a good place to live. they said that the city is primarily made up of old retired geezers. they also said the gay population in victoria is huge. i have no problem with gay people, but i like chicks so i don't want to move to a city that's a sausage fest. the people in the vancouver chatroom also said that victoria is an artsie farstie city and called it a great big flower garden.
when i asked what the chick factor is like in victoria... they said that it's great as long as i'm over 65 years old.
so after thinking i was going to move to victoria, i decided that that might not be such a good idea. and calgary seems like a cool city so that's where my focus has shifted to.
but i'd like to hear why you're thinking about moving to victoria, and also what you think about what people told me re: victoria being an old geezer city & and a sausage fest.

victoria is pretty but boring imo... not hip. shit, i'd go to vancouver before victoria. victoria is a small city too.
if you aren't planning to hit montreal or toronto i'd say the next best place to be is calgary.

i also like how calgary is near banff. i've never been into skiing or snowboarding but if i lived in calgary i think i might want to get into that.

and they have great hot and dry summers in calgary... winters are warmer than most prairie cities because chinooks are always occurring.
nothing like a prairie summer.
