calestetics and muscle density

There are some people who train in my gym who only do pushups, dips, pullups with dif grips, handstand pushups, low rep squats and deadlifts. Most of them have this compact muscle density, not very wide but very dense and thick.

Did anyone else notice correlation between basics and calesthetics vs regular bodybuilding routines (cables, 'shaping excercies', etc)? It seems like many guys I see doing regular bodybuilding routines are bloated.. in a sense that they have lots of mass but little thickness. Maybe it is just genetics, or maybe diet, but Im still wondering about the calesthetics + basics thing.

Body weight training will lead to very strong, firm and functional muscles. It doesn't provide enough resistance to give muscles that big and round appearance.

Body weight training is great, but it'll make you look more like an athlete then a bodybuilder. You will have a physique like Bruce Lee, rather then Ronnie Coleman.

Most bodybuilders look bloated because they simply eat too much or aren't using the proper support supplements with their cycle and are experiencing side effects like high estrogen, which leads to water retention.
