Cajuns.....A Serious Question

StickFigure

New member
This could be the thing that determines if I move down to Louisiana or not.

Is the new Subway Blackened Cajun Sandwhich really cajun enough for you? I mean if this is the dirty souths idea of "cajun spices", I may as well stay here in Alaska.

Please advise!

The black stuff is coal. So, it's all good.

Not to mention, you're prolly get lucky twice daily. I'd go if I were you.

:D

So you're basically moving from a cold shithole to a hot shithole?

Bro, the cuisine here in LA is like no other in the world. my first wife was from grand isle, la which is located on the toe of the boot. she can cook her ass off. if you tasted her cooking you would fucking firebomb Subway.

bro- you wont have to wear bear-skin rugs any more to stay warm...figure out the food issue later!!!...

Blackening is actually not a traditionally Cajun cooking method.

And their food will make your belly happy. I promise.

SF, what part of LA were you planning on moving to?

The Greater New Orleans area is still a shithole. Perhaps where Frisky & Fiesty live have recouped from Rita ... they can give you better guidance. But, I wouldn't recommend N.O. yet.

Denham Springs?

B.R. population has doubled from N.O. Katrina evacuees.

If you have a place to live I'm sure there's plenty opportunities to make $$$.

Be prepared to spend a good portion of your day in traffic :worried:

You should see this 6000sqft house that im doing right now.. freaking amazing.

and the guy im doing it for will be helping me take out all my old tile and put down new ones and wood floor in my bedroom. Im totally siked

cajun food is not available outside of cajun country...really not technically available outside of Acadia Parish, but I suppose you could call Evangeline Parish "Cajun" though you'd be technically wrong.

Whenever you see the word "Cajun" used to describe food, perform this simple test

1 - Am I in Louisiana?
2 - Am I in Acadia or Evangeline Parish?

If the answer to both is not yes, then you're dealing with poseurs.

Cajun country is a blast man....too much fun for me. I left in 2000 and banned myself, said I would never come back. Thinking of lifting the ban, we'll see. The voices are calling me.

I'll be back though...at some point. You'll have fun down there, there's nothing else like it in the US.

Lived there for a couple years as a kid up in Minden. I remember liking it but obviously don't have a clue of what it's like as an adult.
