Cables for back? Are they necessary

Here's a peak at my back workout.

Weighted pull-ups (wide grip) x 3
Deadlifts x 5 (1 warm-up)
barbell rows (using e-z curl bar) x 3
Close grip pull-ups x 2

Can i build width and thickness by using the above workout, without incorporating any cable work.

Am i missing anything by not performing cable work?

Rather than cables i'd say throw in T-bar rows, or seated rows.. Lat pulldowns blow up my lats, which are by far my best bodypart..many will disagree w/ me on the pulldowns tho, but i just cant get enough of them...

Just do what works best for you tho, if u see progress u must be doing something right, but also keep doing numerous things cause it never hurts to shock the muscles with new things..

Problem with cables is that i always found my forearms would blow up more than my back, or that i was limited by my grip strength or forarm strength.

I think you've got a solid back day there. Seated rows would be redundant to your bent rows, IMO. So I think you're fine doing what you're doing.

The human back is basically designed to allow pulling in a 180 degree arc. So pull downwards, pull along the middle, and pull upwards, and that's all you need for back.

Example:
2 x chins
2 x DB or BB rows

Optional: 2 x upright rows (if you don't do other shoulder stuff)

the cables are useful because you can pulll your shoulder blades and arms further back therefore really working the muscles near the centre of the back. Gettign that pinching feeling

Personally, I would put heavy deads first. They will build more of a back than anything else, and help your grip for other back exercises.

Agree with my young friend here. Deads are best done first when you're freshest. They're the most demanding back excercise you can do, so you want to be as least fatigued as possible.
