BW overhead squat

good job. however why dont you jerk the weight up and then do the oh squat. it almost looks like a drop snatch to me

Are you supposed to do any kind of BTN pressing if you have shoulder problems? It's much safer (but a lot harder) if you press from the front.

prepre - yeah your right its kind of a cross between the two but i catch it above parralel so ill count it as an overhead squat, usually i would jerk it 1st if i was doing strict ohs's but i was just trying to get a pb, lol, for drop snatch i would just drop straight into the hole.

u418936 - i know what u mean but when the grip is so wide (snatch grip) it doesnt put much strain on them, anyway its very hard and ackward to rack the bar in front with a snatch grip.

badguy - how many can u currently do, seen some of those crossfit guys (and girls) do 15. awesome. I built the platform myself

I saw some of those videos. Those women are freaking strong. One of the main female trainers there weighs less than 100 lbs and deadlifts 240 lbs. I also saw her press around 110 lbs with strict form.

I weight just over 200lbs. and I can do 3 reps of 185 lbs I can also do 30 reps of 95 lbs. The problem is I don't have bumper plates yet so I can't go all out incase I have to ditch the weights. I don't spend enough time working the OHS. When I get my bumper plates, it's on.

Those chicks from crossfit are awesome.

Do you know where I can find some good instructions on building a lifting platform?

ummm i think i just googled it and found some article on ironmind. its quite simple tho if you have a flat surface to work with, i just screwed 4 layers of plywood (2 sheets per layer, each layer in a different direction) to the concrete base i made (my floor wasnt flat). Then put a final piece of plywood down the middle with a couple of strips of rubber down the outsides.

Thanks, I've seen that one on ironmind... I was just wondering if you had something else. But if that one is good, I'll use it. I want to build one soon... and a couple plyo boxes.
