buying a guitar

I have a Fender Strat Tex Mex.

Black with white in-lay.

Love it so far. Just started.

I have heard of Fender Strat, but what is the TEX MEX all about?

I think thats what Stevie Ray used? and maybe even Hendrix

Tex is just a particular style of Fender.

Ever see the old black and white strat Clapton used to use - same model.

OIC, cool, how much was it, and did you buy it new?
I know I'm asking alot of questions, but I don't wan tto go into the store and get ripped off.

Also, you said that you just recently started, would you say that the guitar you have is good for a beginer, or do you think your model is too advanced? Or do you think it even matters?

Electric is electric I don't think it really matters.

It was a gift, so I am not really sure of the price, I think the Guitar, bag, strings, pics, tuner and amp was like around 450.

Sounds good, thanks again for the info, I appreciate it.

There is a big difference in styles of frets and fretboards, harmonics, body compositions, etc. Certain types of harmonics and guitars are geared torwards certain types of music. Find a good guitar store and ask a lot of questions.

I have a limited edition (1 of 500) Charvel w/ upturned headstock, mother-of-pearl inlays, flat frets, Jackson harmonics and brazilian maplewood body. For my banger guitar, I have a custom Charvette (also w/ Jackson harmonics). For my first guitar, I had some generic electric with a single/double pickup design.

Personally, I like Charvel (and Charvette) and Ibanez.

we have a couple of gitars here. Both my brothers play, i cant play worth shit. I prefer the accustic guitars though. The sound from them are awesome. The only song i know how to play is "Nothing else matters" and it only sounds right on an accustic guitar.

I play the gutiar.

I have a 1959 telecaster, 1981 strat and just got rid of a 1964 gibson sg.

I also have a few acoustics. I would give everything away if I had to keep one of them.... it would be the acoustic.

Trust me.. with an electric you can be part of a band. With an acoustic.. you are a one man band.
