Butyrolactones... specifically C75

OXANDRIN

New member
what is the legal statis of this chemical? i read about how in rats it caused tremdious amounts of fat loss.

how hard is it to make this chemical?

VERY HARD to make, and its an experimental antineoplastic agent that inhibits FAS (fatty acid synthase). Do a search on it, there was a great thread going a few weeks ago, ill bump it to the top.
Fat loss was a "side effect" noticed and is being worked on.

I found this on T-mag:

Okay, so where can C75 naturally be found?

C75 is also known as alpha-methylene-gamma-butyrolactone. For short, I will refer to the natural version of C75 as AMGBL. AMGBL is found in the Yarrow plant, Achillea millefolium. Yarrow is also known as milfoil, thousand-leaf, green arrow, wound wort, nosebleed, and yarroway. The AMGBL can easily be extracted from the plant by ether extraction methods.

The down side to this plant and possibly the AMGBL extract (natural C75) is that Yarrow and the one other plant that contains AMGBL, tulips, have been known to cause contact dermatitis in sensitive individuals. It is unknown if ingesting the extracted AMGBL would pose any issue. The other interesting thing about yarrow and especially this extract, is that is has been found to have anti-carcinogenic effects (chemoprotective against leukemia).

Given all this, it's only a matter of time before a dietary supplement company who can purify and test AMGBL will market it as a weight loss aid.

It is not hard to make, it is a 2 step simple process, but you need gamma-butyrolactone

You don't even NEED to make it. It is commercially available from FLUKA Chemicals, TCI America, or ICN. I don't think it is a controlled substance at this point so you may just be able to order it and have it delivered to your house!

Sigmund, i have the instructions, its a little more than a two step process........

Spidey, how can it be comercially availible when its not even gone through human testing yet.....it is still an experimental compound.

Ok, i found it, they have alpha-methyl-gamma-butyrolactone for reasearch purposes. I was thinking more along the lines of a product for human consumption, which i might just do.

Wait a minute BigRand. Are you looking for alpha-methyl or alpha-METHYLENE-gamma butyrolactone. They are different compounds. I think it is the Methylene, right?

Yes, it is commercially available as a research chemical. It is sold by TCI America (cat. # M0907, price = 1g/$14.60) and is stabilized by 2,6-ditertbutyl cresol. The stabilizer would have to be removed before you take any. That can easily be accomplished by distillation.

In Sigmund's defense, there is almost always more than one possible synthetic route to a target. I can think of a two step synthesis off the top of my head.
