also define "old post"

You know that whatever cut-off they give theres going to be a rush of old posts bumping not unlike the recent bankruptcies filings.

so if i bump an old thread, which i never do, i get penalized 10gs because certain tards do it constantly?
sounds fair

don't worry hammy.
a. you never do it anyway.
b. you're not coldblue.
c. show me your tits.

i hate when old threads get bumped for no reason. but people are going to get smart and instead of bumping old threads they are just going to repost. might want to get a handle on that. not saying kill anyone who reposts but if someone is habitually doing it then kill them...

What if someone bumps an old thread to show evidence of something or maybe there's a cool video/pic that the "bumper" would like EF to view again. This rule is way to vague. :Chef: :tuc:

This should only apply to polls and to C&C. There are times in the other fora when it's a reasonable thing to do. Training information is often always valid.

it doesnt apply if you do it once. Its for certain somebody that bumps like 7 old threads a day

I would think that common sense would win out in this. If you bump a thread that is old without adding to the thread more than "bump", "up", "^^^". or any "numbers", then you'll get hit.

Of course I could be wrong, and in that case, bump!!!

;)

gay rule. you guys draw so much attention to disciplining people for stuff like this, which is why people want to continue to do it. if no one ever said anything about bumping an old thread, maybe it would die down and people would see they get no attention for being a "rabbblerouser". I never understood why old threads were so bad. Sometimes its fun to see old threads from way back when. I get a kick out of the old threads. Cornolio. lol.

anyway, just my .02

plifter wasn't banned... I can still K Hit him
Some red maybe?

The real Plifter was banned and allowed back by George so that George could personally ban him a second time.

Someone's fugging around with a lower case "P"lifter

So why allow threads that are older than one month to even stay open?

I'm sorry, but this is the dumbest thing that i've seen on here yet. I realize that if someone is doing it on a regular basis for kicks, that he/she should get a talking to, but damn, you guys are starting to sound like a bunch of commies.

I repeat. One of the dumbest ideas i've seen on here yet.

Racist!

- but if they're bumping 'Clambuteroil' then all is well...

I tend to agree with Whiskey here.

The problem seems to be not the issue of old posts being bumped, but Coldblue taking a very small issue to an excess.

By these new rules, Bran would've been banned for bumping Nathan's classic Huntor Peagor stories upon my request, which is absurd.

Deal with the actual problem itself. Easier and less drama.

I have to agree with Samoth here partly because tt's often hard to argue with Samoth and I've just woken up. Deal with the problem itself: Just hang him.

I have to agree with QSis, too, almost entirely because she raises a good point, pardon him if he can find good threads which we'd merely forgotten about.

coldbluexxx get real, be nice.

why not just auto lock threads with no new posts after a certain amount of days? They would still be searchable at least, just no bumping.

In some cases an old thread should be bumped, but if a mod doesn't see any reason to that person could be targeted.

Sad, but what can use little people do, nothing really. George = good cop digger = bad cop.. synonymous with good bro bad bro.

In the other boards, thread often never really die, they just sleep for a while and that's good. Training, diet and juice info is often always valid.

Polls are usually annoying when they resurface after many months, though. As with the rest of this board we rely on people to be considerate and sensible.

Accordingly, we have mods to remind us when we cross the line. Sometimes the lines are fuzzy which is why the mods have powers to enforce their will and create confuzion since different mods will have different ideas of where the line sits. We're a community and if someone repeatedly and willfully transgresses then the commuity must impose sanctions, however harsh and unfair they may initially seem. It's to the greater good.

One, one thread but there can't be a good reason to bumb several just a sake of it.

then don't make a rule. Deal with the rogue people on a one by one basis. Lead by example

The rule is for the bad bros I was talkin' about.

I don't know Perk, the rule seems for everybody. I never bump old threads but I'm finding myself more and more reading old threads (specialyl when the quality of new threads go below sub-human level).

If I decide to bump once or twice something I see that is interesting or funny do I get diggered? even if I don't do that?

The whole premise of having DOs and DONTs seem flawed to me in this environment. Somebody does some stupid shit, whack them in the head once it becomes a regular offence, the other people will learn
