BULKING - No cardio

Have any of you managed to keep your bf% under 10% during a clean bulking up phase by lifting only. I.e zero cardio or maybe just a little bike on the off days? Just curious how many have felt that diet is 100% of staying lean....do you reduce cals on off days? Reduce carbs? Skip pw shake only? Thanks...

nope...for some reason my body holds alot of water and i put on weight very easily. i'm 175 right now and could hit 200 on a clean bulk in 6 weeks...just the way it is with me.
 
Jeff - I train in the same gym as Lee Priest and have chatted w/ him a few times. He used to be all about packing on the fat w/ the muscle (he got to 300 @ 5'4" and cut back to 220 for a show and was "still a little soft" @ 5%).

He now clean bulks and only does cardio for contest prep, maybe 5-6 weeks out - and then it is 2x per day and for 1.5hrs per - due to shoots and what not he stays below 10% at all times. I see him all the time and he looks fucking diced daily.

Genetics is a huge factor in this. I mean some people have a six pack without working out and eating junk food every night. These people would lend themselves to successfully clean bulking under 10% without cardio. But the gains of their bulk will probably less on a poundage level.

Al - would it be wrong to say though that there is a good chance that Lee might use a lot of stuff that might help him keep his bodyfat percentage low without cardio?

Sure - but no more than most of the gear heads on this site. Some TEst, some Winny, some Clen....but as we all know it is 90% diet.

I've taken it at 7% bf and it really has done nada....maybe I can't get anymore cut without gaining mass. Do you feel the better your suts look, the more mass you have? I guess I should ask, have you ever been sub 10%?

He's also on a ton of gear....so he can afford to eat huge and stay lean. We eat huge and I dont care how clean it is, fat is enevitable.
 
It takes me cardio 5-6 days a week, low carb, and all the chems I can think of to get to around 10%. So unless you are just one those ectomorphs body types I don't see how.
