Ok I was about 160lbs 18% body fat about 4 weeks ago. I went on this mass diet and now i'm 174 24% body fat. I gained to much weight too soon. However I did increase in every excersise I do. I went up 20lbs on my bench and 20lbs on my squat. Now i want to cut up and get rid of my ridiculous 24% body fat. Should i just suddenly shift over to a no carb diet w/ low calories? I was eating about 3000 calories a day and plenty of carbs. I'd say about 500-600g of carbs a day. Is it ok to make the sudden shift or do i have to ease up day by day so eventually i get into a low carb/calorie diet.

If you are 160 and 18%...you need to SLOWLY bulk...not all out bulk. Seems as if you didn't bulk intelligently...

What was your diet like?

B True

14 pounds in 4 weeks = 3.5 pounds per week = about 1000 per day too many.

I recently started, too, went from 2200 cals/day to 3300 cals/day (yesterday) in the span of about a week and a half, raising slowly each day. haven't gained any weight yet, so that's a good sign. too many cals? bit too few? I'm at 190 and 6'1, bulking completely cleanly, with a 40/40/20 (EFA) ratio. toss in your two cents if ya wish.

thanks

why not try and figure out exactly how many carbs you need a day to maintain your mass and slowly shed the body fat? it takes a long time but works real well.

no carb diets are the worst thing you can do to yourself, no question about it. if you want to flatten out and lose muscle and fat at close to a 1:1 ratio, go with the no carb diet.
