bulging disk, therapy, back spasms...wahhhhhhh

I have had a bulging disk (L4/L5) for several years. I have recently decided to try to rehab myself since it seems to be my limiting factor in how heavy I am able to go on Legs (Squats). I also think it is what is keeping me from achievingthe abs I have always wanted. Anyways, I am currently seeing a chiropractor who is having me go thru a number of treatments (Ultrasound, Physical therapy, adjustments). Since I have been going I have noticed that I am more susceptible to lower back spasms than ever before. Especially on days when I work Legs. I have drastically changed up my Leg workouts for the time being to keep myself from going into spasms afterwards.

I'd like to know if anyone here has any experience with something like this occuring. Today my leg workout consisted of Leg extensions, step ups, lunges and Calf raises. I am on the brink of back spasms as we speak. I don't want to cease training legs. I've already cut out squats since those bring about the most discomfort. What can I expect? What do you guys think?

Thanks for your help

Massage the area as much as you can. Get your knuckles in and work the muscles. I've even found myself on the floor between sets just trying to ease tension on the area with stretching and twisting. It gets easier as time passes.
