building muscle in 3 months

New member
With proper diet and a well planned strength program how much bw could a 5'11" guy put on in 3 months. CSCS certified

I don't think thats something that can be forecasted.
Everyones different.
Im sure if you had 10 people, all same stats (age, height, weight, etc).. put them on the same diet and training, they'd have different results.

Still not quite sure I can answer your question very well.

1) What is Cho?
2) Please define what you mean by powerlifting and one month hypertrophy lifting. Maybe post your program?
3) What does CSCS certified mean? Is that some personal trainer certification agency?
4) What are your current age, weight, years lifting, etc?

The more specific you are the more I can be.

B-

Let me cast a gaze into my crystal ball for you.

It's hazy... wait, no I see something....

The crystal ball tells me it is impossible to tell. Sorry.:(

Just work hard and eat big. A set number doesn't make sense. If you are doing things right, you will see the results you want over time.

I'm guessing that Cho = carbohydrates...CSCS = Certified Strength/Conditioning Specialist. I don't know if he's saying he is one, or wants help from one or what...

I'll bite, and throw some numbers up.

-60 to +50. Somewhere in this range.

Seriously though, I would think a true, youthful beginner, who did everything right, training and diet should gain about 12-24 pounds. Expecting between 1-2 lbs per week.

12 pounds in 3 months would be a good goal for a beginner looking to build muscles naturally.

When I started I added 15 lbs of weight in 6 weeks. I added another 5lbs the following 6 weeks. Not all muscle, but body weight. The next 6 weeks I gained 2 lbs. Then I realized that th ebig muscles were on th elower half of your body and gained another 6 pounds the following 6 weeks. All in about 5-6 months I was up 30 lbs, but my BF had also risen from about 9% - 14% and gains come slower and the slower the further you go. Add juice into the mix and I was up 50lbs in 1 year with a raise of 4-5% in BF total. I have pics of it posted up in the pics forum. I'm 6'2" btw.

I haven't gained much overall bodyweight since then, but my physique is improving, getting leaner, dialing in everything just right.

Now I have started back on the lower half because the last 2 months I have been recovering from injury. I would have been past 230lbs, but my legs instead atrophied like crazy and my overall body weight has gone nowhere. :(

Here's a good place to start:

1- age?
2- height?
3- weight?
4- bf%
5- pictures? (trying to see what you "genetically" look like)
6- experience with training
7- supplements?
8 - aas?
9- diet?
10- rest?
11- training routine?

so many different variable, it's almost impossible to answer this question

depending on how advanced you are
if you are a beginner/intermediate you can make some pretty solid gains on a linear 5x5 for 9+ weeks (however long untill you stall)

google madcows 5x5
