Past weekend was the 27th brother's annual picnic. 5 brothers (sometimes) and a cousin and friends get together for a day of pig out. (wives/women ain't invited until cigar time)
I know you all are health nuts and watch what you eat (sometimes), but this is a GREAT day.
Start at about 2 PM with what else, BEER! Frosted mugs and make a toast.
Usually had shrimp and chips and such, but we don't eat so much no more, so skip the appitizers.
Around 5 we make a cooking fire for the spuds and corn on the cob. Soaked well they are placed into the fire. Delmonico steaks for all, 1 to 1 1/2 lbs each, one to 1 1/2 inch thick, cooked as you like. I like mine BLUE. New to the menu, 1 1/4 lb lobstahs from Maine (actually just off the coast here). Add salad and sauteed onions and mushrooms and what a meal we had.
Usually end the night with cigars and a dip in the pool, but trashed out early, and the weather said no pool. something about lightning and pools just don't mix.
Always lookin forward to the next annual. Mmm Mmm Good!
