The actor who plays Vito was recently interviewed on a local radio station - he says that whole plot was his idea..... :whatever:

Oh fucking please....I got news for you, if you can sit there and watch "man on man love" then you should come outta the closet.

Now go ahead and invoke that bullshit about homophobia and the how the person really must be gay.

i have no problem watching what is going on

there's a deeper meaning to all of this, if you can't pick up on it then you aren't appreciating what sopranos is all about

What is the deeper meaning??

How things have changed so much? if so I get that part, but they are dragging that shit out and there's no need for sex scenes.

as far as action, yes...it's slow

but character development is amazing imo

it's a modern spin on an organized crime family, these are realistic issues that could take place (gay members)

I get that part and the rise of corporations replacing the little guy and how the old school way is dissappearing.

But there's no need for the gay sex scenes(chase is really telling his target audience to fuck off with that shit) except to rip off Brokeback mountain.

were you complaing at the sex scenes between tony and his bitches?

its part of the show, the show is designed to immitate real life, that has always been the main draw, a look into a life that MOST OF US never get to see firsthand, many of us never even hear about second hand.

So initially the show appealed to your sexuality, great, now its touching on a different aspect, and all of a sudden it sucks?

Did the gay sex scenes somehow make you forget about the following:
1) Tony discussing the obligations with the lawn worker that Paulie "help"
2) Tony's daughter having problems with her fiance
3) Tony exploring his relationship with his sister
4) Tony manipulating his wife with the spec home when he doesn't get his way
5) Johnny Sac taking a plea bargain, and what that meant to his 'friends' and how he never would flip. (that scene with the lawyer was awesome by the way)
6) Chris getting the maserati repoed!!! he lost 25,000 on that!
7) Tony doing tough negotiations with the construction company in louisianna

Anyway, there is a whole lot more to that episode and to the show then just the man on man love, but if that is what YOU choose to focus on, then I think we all know who needs to just come out of the closet already.

I was waiting for the "actually this has been the best season ever, its not all about the killing and mob stuff" blah blah blah. peeps to come on the thread .stfu. BOTTOM line..95% of the people (except for the cinematic geniuses on here) watch The Sopranos for the violent/exciting shit that happened in the first couple seasons. This gay shit is pure crap .

lol @ david chase pwning all the simple minded fucks who thought the sopranos was some action series and not a drama! lol

The Gay Mafia rules...

Gay Mafia they come round & break the legs on your coffee table / they put a horse's head in your bed with its mane plaited into ribbons /etc /etc
"MEMO TO: All federal agents.

RE: The F.B.I.'s racketeering division recently infiltrated the nation's alleged Gay Mafia, with operatives working undercover as vicious choreographers, neo-con columnists, and chatty houseboys. These moles have discovered many significant differences between this far-reaching criminal enterprise and its heterosexual counterpart.

1. Gay godfathers usually are godfathers, but they can also be favorite uncles, athletic aunts, and brothers-in-law who do publicity.

2. The Broadway community has been repeatedly terrorized by gay thugs, who will often force the entire cast of a musical comedy to raise their arms at the end of every number.

3. High-ranking members of the Gay Mafia communicate almost exclusively by phone. Code phrases include "Stop it," "So when I ran into him I was very so-fine-we-had-sex-so-what-I-still-hate-you," and "Oh, she's one to talk."

4. Gay hit men have been known to slaughter a rival simply by entering his apartment, glancing around, and commenting, "Oh, I love that, you're still doing Mission."

5. A gay crime boss will often terrorize a capo by leaving the severed head of his cleaning woman in his bed.

6. There is definitely a female Gay Mafia, and they all sided with Ellen.

7. The Gay Mafia's links to the Catholic Church are extensive, and most often begin with the phrase, "Jimmy, did you know that the Apostles liked to wrestle?"

8. There is an unbreakable Gay Mafia code of silence, but it lasts only until a member's best friend answers the page.

9. A person becomes a "made man" in the Gay Mafia only when he orders unnecessary T-shirts just so Abercrombie and Fitch will keep him on its mailing list.

10. The Gay Mafia has its origins in ancient Greece, when Don Plato first remarked to a group of graceful youths, "I am so over Carthage."

11. The Gay Mafia has been known to threaten highly placed figures in the fashion industry by refusing to purchase anything from their home collections.

12. Even the most powerful gay dons do not dare to challenge Michael Feinstein.

13. The Gay Mafia is rumored to have important ties to Nancy Sinatra.

14. The Gay Mafia is assumed to have connections with dockworkers and longshoremen, because they're just so damn hot.

15. The Gay Mafia dons are also calls rons and davids.

16. The Gay Mafia has been linked to prostitution, drugs, and pornography, especially as gifts.

17. The Transgendered Mafia is becoming a major player, mostly because they're so tall.

18. Gay mafiosi are particularly fond of the movie "Scarface," but they think it's the life of Joan Rivers.

19. Lieutenants in the Gay Mafia are usually heavily armed, especially during tank-top season.

20. Capos in the Gay Mafia will often abduct an informer, bring him out to the New Jersey Meadowlands, and leave him there.

ok so lets use your logic.

You don't mind the murder scenes right? so you are a murderer?
you don't mind the rape scenes right? so you ar a rapist
you don't mind domestic violence? so you beat your wife/gf
you don't mind the cheating scenes? so you are a cheater.
You don't like the gay scenes? you are not gay
you don't like child molsetor scenes? you are not a child molestor.

congrats.

Again my point here is, listening to you whine about a little gay sex is like listening to my ex gf complain that the show was too violent. Enough said.

in REAL LIFE we don't have to see gay sex shoved in our faces.

So why do we have to watch it on a show where visiuals of gay sex have nothing to do with the plotlines. Remember the 20's when they didn't even show couples in bed. We used our imagination. Why couldn't they here? Just gay producers forcing straight america to watch gay sex/love whether "they like it or not". I don't remember where it was written we had to watch gay sex, to be "complete americans". I must've missed that class.

I thinkt he point of the show is to give an inside look into some of these things? you think maybe?

how would you know it occured otherwise if they didn't shove it into your face? I mean, would you just assume that gay sex took place? Why would you do that? You have gay sex on the brain and just assume everyone does it? Why? You are thinking too much about this gay sex thing I can see that it might be a prob...

hang on my brie is burning.

I have respect most everyone that has posted on this thread...

You bring out a lot of what is going on...

I am a die hard Sopranos fan...

But you have to admit this season pales in comparision to seasons past....

After the last season ending with Tony and Carm reconciling...Johnny getting busted...Tony putting a cap in his cousin...Ade getting popped...

This season really blows.

And everything that you mentioned above is great...but they underdeveloping so much of it.

It is truly my favorite show but they are really letting me down.

People who are bashing this season will revoke their comments once the season is over.

1. This season is 20 episodes, not 12. The plot is going to be stretched out.
2. Something major will happen, it's the last season.

People who are dissing this season don't know good television when they see it.

agree...this has been a pretty shitty season so far

big surprise. everyone and their mother knows of one big surprise coming up. It was pretty obvious to whoever saw the 'scene' last year.

well, true as it is (remember Henry Hill?), it still isn't as good as seeing the real shiz like beatings and decapitations.....they have yet to show what will happen to a gay capo once he's caught....LOL....talk about character development.....lets hope T don't go soft and let him off.....that would be disgrace to that thing of ours....
i don't think david chase will do that though.....remember he was born a DeCesare......he should know "proper etiquette"......... :chomp:

he'll make sure its dealt with bro.

I don't care for the gay intimate scenes, either. But since Vito was heading back to the city at the end of the episode, I think they are done showing that. I had to laugh when Vito thought that it might be getting close to lunch and sees that it wasn't even 10 yet. Shows how little actual work the character actually ever had to do in his life.
I think the show is going to start gaining speed as far as the storylines.

lol at the term "homophobia" being used like it's a real word. A "phobia" is an unnatural FEAR of something! To be repulsed by seeing two men kissing doesn't invoke fear in anyone. They simply feel repulsed. End of story.
I'm repulsed by pedophiles and also by seeing plastic surgery being performed on TV, too. I must have "pedophobia" and "plasticsurgeryphobia" , too then.

And, no, I don't hate someone because they are gay. But I do think that trying to label someone "homophobic", and then accuse them of being "closet gay" is a pretty pathetic defense created (out of thin air) by gay advocates in retaliation to those that attack them and their lifestyle. They simply needed something to say back to those who act out towards them, and that is what they came up with (including the word "homophobic").

Well, it doesn't matter anyway if say, hypothetically someone accepts some of the notions of a coherence between same-sex inclinations and homophobia. Peripherally or directly assumed by some advocates and ignoramuses is that homophobia will be resolved once someone initiates same-sex behavior. This is a fallacy, as there are actually homosexuals who are homophobic. This phenomenon is labeled "internalized homophobia", e.g. read: Cultural value orientations, internalized homophobia, and accommodation in romantic relationships. J Homosex. 2005;50(1):97-117. Gaines SO, Henderson MC, Kim M, Gilstrap S, Yi J, Rusbult CE, Hardin DP, Gaertner L; Internalized homophobia: a factor in depression, anxiety, and suicide in the gay and lesbian population. Can J Commun Ment Health. 2003 Fall;22(2):15-30. Igartua KJ, Gill K, Montoro R; etc.

With all the psychological disorders in the world and what people think, there must be a respective "internalized heterophobia", in which one could say "heterophobe". Heterophobia in MSM and WSW exists of course, e.g.: Heteronegativism? The attitudes of gay men and lesbians toward heterosexuals. J Homosex. 1999;37(1):65-79. White SM, Franzini LR.

Nevertheless, in my opinion, these slanders are all uncalled for. Man the 21st century is pathetic. With an advancement of knowledge comes an equal advancement of idiocy.

I think it is important and essential that they show these kind of scenes.

AAP said:

Why? If I took an interest in this type of thing, I would watch something along these lines. Then we have lestat come out and say that we are watching violence, and hetro sex scenes anyway, but we can't watch this? The hell with him. With lestat's mode of thinking, we don't draw the line anywhere, because its all the same. If we thought the same way he does, then we should also not have a problem with beastiality, and other sex crap I don't want to mention. That's bullshit and everyone knows it. Hypocrisy, my ass!
I watch the Sopranos and I know I will see violence, hetro sex, and cursing. I accept that, hell, I welcome it. People watch science fiction so they can see spaceships, lasers, and space creatures. People watch comedies to have a good laugh. People watch Lawrence Welk because they like that type of music and entertainment. How would that audience feel if Lawrence Welk threw in a performance of Ashley Sipmson or Snoop Dogg? Or if a boxing show threw in a match with fake professional wrestlers?
Now I'm not really upset that they threw these scenes into the show. I just looked away and started watching again after I knew it was over. But for someone to come on here and say that they didn't like the fact that these scenes were shown, then called a hypocrite because of it, that's bullshit.
