Breast implant experiences?

Now don't start flaming the hell out of me till you read the message. My girlfriend is tossing around the thought of getting implants but, is afraid she will lose nipple sensation. She has really sensative nipples and loves it for obvious reasons durring sex. Since she has lost the last bit of her weight, her breast have gotten smaller as most might expect. I did not suggest & would prefer that she not do it but, if she think's it'll make her hapier with her body then so be it. I like her just the way she is & I'm an ass man, not a tit man anyways. She has been working out since her mid teens and is now 24. She eats very sensibly & is very healthy. I would like to know what your exerience or those you've known's experiences have been with implants and losing sensation. I will pass all info on to her. & once again, for the record, it's not my idea, even though I know some of you still wont believe me. Thanx for any & all input.......Supertech

Loss of sensation is a risk. For some it's only temporary; for others permanent. Loss of sensation can be total or vary by degrees. But some women even get increased sensitivity.

I am 5 weeks post-op and have not lost nipple sensation. In fact for the first few weeks they were hyper-sensitive (which, believe it or not, really is not as good as it sounds). Now they are behaving normally. The underside of my breasts are a little numb, but supposedly should improve. Even of it doesn't, the surgery was well worth it for me. She'll just have to weigh the risks.

Have her check out these sites:

my nipples were a little hypersensitive after my surgery and my breasts were a little numb as well, but once all the swelling was gone, all of that disappeared. now they are a little more sensitive than before. its been a year since my surgery and i'm very happy. i've had no problems whatsoever and i feel it was worth it as well!!!

no flaming here! :D

Had mine since 94...

absolutely no problems....above the muscle....750cc each....a good C cup.....no scars....no scar tissue internally....and no lost sensation anywhere....i even had my child afterwards and breastfed....and they look as good as ever! just make sure you get a good surgeon....board certified...look at his before & after shots...and try to actually meet some of his patients and see the "real" after pics!

In my case....chose a surgeon that 5 or 6 gurls I knew had used....so knew he did really good work...plus I used one who had u stay overnite on antibiotic IV....really keeps down any infection risk....i know a gurl who went to someone locally....did outpatient and ended up with a nasty infection...had to have one implant removed....had to let that side heal before it could be re-inserted....hers were put in by making the incisions under the arm...mine were underneath the breast....

I don't know where you are located but Dr. Michael Self in Birmingham did mine....awesome work....my ob/gyn said he did an exceptional job as I have no internal scarring....course that also depends on individual tendencies too....

but I luv my boobs now.....and have zero regrets or problems....

but then i've always thought fake looked best.... :)

I had 2 surgeries and I have now a gog E cup; Although I find them to big for training I'm quite satisfied with the results.

I got opened on the nipples and lost sensation on one nipple only!! No big deal!!

the loss of sensations depends on where you got the scar: on the nipple or under the armpit or under the breast!!

Good luck for you GF!:)

Its a definite gamble with the outcome, some women lose it , some gain it, some dont change with respect to sensation in the nipple...

I personally feel nothing really changed for me, and i had my incision around the areola...

Best of luck if she decides to do it, i had local anaesthetic (not put under) and it hurt like a sob!!

I definitely DO NOT regret it tho as i did it for myself, in fact my bf at the time was in mexico cause i knew he totally dissaproved ;)

how much did u pay? and how long for the recovery..u think its better for me to get implants or lipo in the tummy? my tummy aint fat but mabye it can rip it up cause i cant get a 6 pack no matter how hard i dietedd for which is 2 months..

Missy your questions are really starting to annoy me!!! Why dont you get a gastric bypass and just eat whatever the hell you want and get tits too???

Anyways..I had mine done almost 5 years ago...my nipples are actually more sensitive now then they were before...no scars..once i graduate from school i will be getting another pair:) There is risk with everything...check it out...go to a good dr...research and then go from there...no regrets here...

good luck to your girl:)

Before mine I never noticed any sensations there, but after I noticed it was numb and that went away and now I am more sensitive there.

lol @ new - same comment to missy. You are a strange person.

I had mine done 2 years ago, around $6K. I did under the muscle, aereola incision. I have some spots that are numb and nipple sensation is back, although it has never been a big deal for me sex wise. I wish I would've done it 10 years ago, although the technology is much better now. I also recommend the 2 sites FitFossil posted - I lived & died by implantinfo.com. I did extensive malpractice searches on several docs in my area and interviewed w/ 4 of them before I chose my doc. There is also a chat room there to talk to girls going thru the surgery soon. Gives a good view of what everyone's concerns and experiences are in real time. Its not a thing to fear, but most definitely to be researched and determined if its appropriate for oneself. Also keep in mind that they have a shelf life -- you can EXPECT to go back for replacements w/in 10-15 years avg. Also if your girl has kids in the future, expect the shape of the breast to change even w/ an implant and she'll prob be going back for a refit after birth too.

The pain for me was pretty miserable the first 2 days, but I heal quickly and after the first week it was just annoying but it took a good 8 weeks before I was back to full capacity.

I had mine done about 2 yrs ago. ( under the muscle) The only real problem I ran into was the extreme abount of pain post surgery but that's not normal. My Doc said that once he got in there he had trouble getting the right implant in because my right pec was 3 times the size of the left pec. (you couldn't tell by just looking at it.) He said it was a little rough getting it in. My nipples are a little sensitive and I have only a slight numbness where the incisions were made. It really seems worth it all now!:)
