Hi,

I've been using the following book that has a lot of how but not a lot of why. It's called STrength Training Anatomy:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0736041850/qid=1063331757/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/103-8121878-1340618?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

What other books like this do you recommend? I'm looking for some with science but aren't written for scientists.

any book on human kinetics (www.humankinetics.com) or elitefts.com

science and practice of strength training......is great but a bit technical for some.
supertraining. great.......but again technical.

my fav simple book is "designing resistance training programs"

or read up here, and www.exrx.net

Interesting. You are right that this site and the forums have a lot of info, but at this point I like to research something that actually makes it into print, read the comments people on amazon have to say about it, forumlate a theory/practice/routine, and THEN come here to share it and check my work (and on extremefitness.com where Adonis and the krew will set you straight.)

Is "supertraining" still avail? Last time I looked all I could get was "supertraining your dog". Not quite what I had in mind.

As far as I know, you can't buy Supertraining from any online bookstore like Amazon, you have to buy it from elitefts.com (if they still sell it) or from Siff's family.

I bet you can get supertraining from Dave Tate at elitefts.com. Another really good book is Science of Sports Training by Kurz.
