ok trying to build up my body but i also want to continue with my tae kwon do training so do you think that i can do them both or will i have to make a decishion between them. are there any martial artests and bodybuilders out there that can help me i dont know what to do?

You can do both just fine.. go for it. What exactly are your goals, since you say bodybuilding, do you have a certain weight you would like to get to, or what? If you get TOO big, it could interfer, but ill wait to see what else you have to say before i make any more comments.

Many fighters will stay away from body building for 1 good reason. The bigger the muscles the more oxygen you use. I say go with a strength building regime. Somthing that will build quality muscle and not quanity. Phil Baroni is a good example, A body building fighter, he can knock you out, but IF he can NOT knock you out he gasses out within 2-3 minutes.

Becareful about tendinitis....judo combined with lifting has given me some pain in my elbows....so i have to take routine breaks from judo every few months

thanks for the help. i want to get bigger dousent more mass mean more power and more power means i will still be able to do the things that i do now? i will have just that much more power and stregnth right.

You should do some researchon this stuff first..there is ALOT to learn. As a MA, you would want alot of strength, not necessarily size. What EXACTLY are your goals? You want to become stronger and faster? How long have you been lifting... have you ever been exposed to plyo's or grip training? How far does your training go? fill us in bro!!!!!!! :)

that size means thats more weight to carry around and that means slower reaction time

I trained in Martial Arts for quite some time.

Lift, train in Martial Arts, and stretch. If you do all three...you will be fine. The Martial Arts training should keep you in good shape and will probably limit any major gains which would make you slower.

i want to get as strong as possible right now. i only started lifting but i have been in MA since i was 7. i dont want my training to stop at tae kwon do. once i leave to coolege i want to start learning some other styles. but i notice that no matter how fast i am it realy douse not mean any thing if there is no power behind it. the way i see it (and i am probably wrong) the bigger the muscle the more power to it. i can still be fast because i will just get use to the extra weight and learn how to speed myself up right. thanks again

One thing I've noticed about this type of question (I've asked, as I run, lift, and am currently boxing), is that there are a lot of different opinions out there. So look for someoone who has actually done all three sucessfully to get your advice from.
