I bet in actuality if the issue ever came up in the form we have been debating it, it would be easiest for transexuals to get the test for body modification, then harder for men who wanted to get bigger, and then hardest of all for women who admitted wanting to get bigger. Of course, if they wanted test to jack up their sex drive (the implication being, to please their man) women would have the easiest time getting it.

Why the arguement I am a man in a woman's body holds more water than I am a big woman in a small woman's body is beyond me, I have to admit. Laws are made according to what is most threatening to the middle aged white men who run our part of the world, and nothing threatens them more than strong women, as far as I can see. I posted a picture of Annie Rivieccio (sp?) on the women's board, and even here on the elitefitness board I got nothing but negative responses, which I find very strange. Granted, she's bigger than most, but the huge guy pics don't get the same negative reaction.

And yet there are threads going about guys who like transexuals. Seems like it's okay for women to get bigger as long as they change their identity to male, so as not to make the guys nervous; if they continue to identify themselves as women, they're reviled.

In fact, one of the guys who posted a response accused me of being a closeted "fag" if I found Annie attractive. I do find her attractive, yes, but I'm a woman, not a guy. Okay, maybe this is just pop psychology, but could it be that the guys who feel most threatened are the ones who worry that liking this strong woman makes them "fags." I'm not saying that they are, but that their attraction to these bodybuilders makes them worried they might be.

I don't know, it's a very weird thing. Not supposed to be a flame against the guys who don't like Annie: to each his or her own. But it still surprises me.

superbug it bothers me because i have a friend who so badly has body disemphormia he doesnt work has n o,doesnt get out at all cause he just to sensitive about it friends his psychiatrist give him prozac,paxil which does crap but if a man wants to be a women then thats ok phsychiatry is so full of crap as long as transexuals can live happily thats all that matters it is retarded

mikeraz, if you would make some sense, I might be willing to have a discussion with you; but your friend with BDD has nothing to do with this conversation about transsexuals. I'm sorry that he doesn't seem to be getting the help that he needs, but again, I'm not sure how to make sense of your references to him in this conversation.

superbug my biggest problem is that i dont see how these peopel are allowed to do this because they cant live with themselves.many many perople cant live with themselves and cant get the proper treatment (e.g fat peopel before epehdrine was allowed for sale,skinny or old men who cant get steroids) but this they allow .they will never ever be the opposite sex no matter how much hormones your plug in . thats my problem

mikeraz, please do not compare transsexuals to fat people, old people, or men who cannot get steroids. It is a completely different concept/problem.

If your biggest problem is understanding that, then the best suggestion that I can give you is to read some of the literature out there regarding GID. Also, please carefully reread my earlier posts. They do not just give out steroids like candy to people with GID. The number of people with GID who are on steroids is tiny compared to the number of people with GID out there.

And to respond to your statement that "they will never ever be the opposite sex no matter how much hormones your plug in".....this is true...we cannot alter someone's genetic makeup...however, if people want to go through something as difficult, painful, and taxing as gender reassignment surgery, they need the hormones to prep for it.

You should know that there are MtoF transsexuals now training in the background with the hopes of competing one day.
During 2006-2007 I myself was offered by the people at FAME to start a new division for MtoF transsexual BB's. Bringing this more in line with the discussion here I had become seriously ill ( though never proven conclusively ) from the combination of HRT and protein. My monthly blood work showed elevating toxic liver levels. My doctor then ordered me out of the gym and to return to non protein rich diet. This has pretty much derailed my ability to achieve my personal goal though I am considering for next year teaming up with sports doctor that would have more knowledge regarding HRT, nutrition and training.
The legalities of competing in a new separate division or along side genetic females is something that would have to be addressed similar to what the Olympic committee has done. It really comes down to how much testosterone is being produced by the testes. In my case my testosterone levels are suppressed well below that of the average genetic female, but not every transsexual is post-op or HRT.
As far as HG being legal that will have to be left to those who truly understand but certainly it is alive and well in the female and male BB community. So why not MtoF and FtoM transsexual competitors.
