The only thing that would change if steroids were legalized is that there would be less otherwise law abiding users getting busted for personal use. It wouldn't change anything in bodybuilding (i.e., size of the competitors). The AAS Control Act was a blessing in disguise for AAS users. If it weren't for the AAS Control Act, Mexican Vet AAS would still be shit, there would be few choices (little d-bol, no 300 mg/cc nandrolone, no 5 mg OX or 10 mg stanozolol, no tren, etc.), prices would be (are) sky high at US pharmacies ($400 for 100 2.5 mg OX or $1200 for 100 A-50, etc.) and Ttokkyo and others wouldn't exist. By continuing to keep them illegal, the govt. is making it better for AAS users from an availability standpoint. In fact, I don't think anything would change if doctors were allowed to prescribe AAS for personal use at this time. The price, availability and choices on the black market are far better than any US pharmacy. Only if generics were brought back would legalization work, unless they allowed importation of personal use AAS including those not approved by the FDA (i.e, d-bol, tren, primo, etc.).
As far as body dysmorphia goes, for some it is a pretty disturbing condition.
