Bodybuilders or NOT?

First off, I would like to say that I have been seeing way too many posts about these huge, costly and IMO exaggerated cycles. I feel that many of the guys on this board are putting there body's through so much shit with the amounts and kinds of drugs they are using, for the wrong reasons. Most of these guys are using Overly high dosages of many different drugs and don't even plan to compete or live bodybuilding as a lifestyle. They think that DRUGS are the Begin All and End All of bodybuilding. Granted they play a very large part in Bodybuilding, but are not everything. Like every Vet will tell you; Diet, training and rest are most important.

Really what I'm getting at is: Why take so many drugs and damage your body and take high risks if it's never going to pay for you? Are you a BODYBUILDER or a guy who wants to have a muscular physique. There is a huge difference, and I feel that if your not going to dedicate a large part of your life to the sport, then you should re-evaluate your plans on what and how much drugs you are using. To be honest with you, I think most of you guys could reach the physique your looking for without any drugs, but it takes time. Time that it seems no one wants to put in.

I'm 20 years old and already have decided to dedicate my life to BODYBUILDING and all the risks associated with it, but if your not willing to do this, then please think about what your doing to yourself and if it's worth it.

BTW
this isn't meant for you guys who are taking 250mg sus and 200mg's Deca a week.

Fantastic post freaky quads guy..

I often wonder the same thing....

I don't ever plan on bodybuilding, possibly powerlifting or olympic weightlifting. Mostly I just want a dense and powerful physique.

I'm sticking to Anavar, Winny, Test, Dbol. And I don't mean all at once.

I don't ever had the need to be a competitive BB either, I just happen to be one of those guys who like to push myself in everything I do. Living this lifestyle is hard and I don't really like sacrificing things sometimes, but I do it. You won't actually realize how wrapped in this you are until you get hurt and can't train, that's when you see just how deep in this you are.

Thumbs up for this post! There are multiple, oh so many floppy, bloated nerds in the world that are taking up to 2 grams of test per week and yet they look like an actor from Full House.

Great Post Toojacked

I actually sat down and had a little talk with myself on this same topic about 6 months ago. I decided that im not going to get involved in any form of professional bodybuilding. I had to evaluate myself because I was considering a heavy cycle in about 3 months, for what though, im never gonna go anywhere with, nor would do i want to. I take bodybuilding very seriously but its for my own sake and satisfaction, no one elses. I bodybuild to look good and get stronger, for me, no one else. But, with all that said, its not worth putting my body through any unnecessary stress, such as a heavy cycle. I plan on continueing to due light cycles in the future and have changed my next cycle up to be easier on my body. This is actually something that all beginners should read. Once again, GREAT POST.

good post i agree with you 100%, but i am one of those people that takes extreme amounts. but i do plan on competing at a high level. not only do i use a lot of gear but i also get 8-10 hours a sleep a night, never less. eat 7,000 calories in the offseason, and been training at a high level for 6 straight years. if all goes well this summer i will qualify for nationals and take a few years off to get ready for that.

The way that I've been seeing it is that it's not only the things like Test, Anadrol, dbol etc. that are even the major problem (although some guys doses are getting out of hand), It's really the ancillary drugs that I see people using that can really fuck them up. Things like DNP,T3,PGF2a, and slin for example. These things are the dangerous ones, and too many inexperienced guys who don't ever think about stepping onstage are using them.

If you want to look good for yourself, the girls or whatever, but aren't planning on being a Freak, then I say stick with lower dose anabolics without dangerous ancillary drugs and save your body from a lot of stress it doesn't need. You can get a great body with just PROPER DIET and EXERCISE, and some mild "supplementation." If there's one thing I need to make clear it's that a lot of people are just plain LAZY, and that's what causes these problems.

As far as you competitive guys out there, I say do whatever it takes just be as smart about it as you can.

Peace

I wanted to add something to TooJack's response also. I agree the ancillary drugs are the one's to really watch and be careful with. I've done a lot of research on this subject matter and have competed locally several times in the past. This last time I took a mild diuretic before my contest and it ended up almost killing me. I was in the hospital for a week after that getting back to normal. It was some scary shit so be careful!
