A friend of mine turned me on to these bodyfat scales from www.Tanita.com. I ordered one yesterday. They may not be 100% accurate, but they will give you a baseline to judge if you are making progress. Just thought I would share this.:present:

These things suck...I have one and all their good for is weighing yourself. They assume that everyone's body is made up of the same percentage of water and that's how they measure it. If you go and take a huge piss your percentage will drop 2% serious. My bodyfat is around 7% using calipers but 13% using it. Save money and buy a skin caliper.

I don't know how accurate they are mine sais I am 26% BF which is absurd.....I would have to really put an effort in to get it that high

Thanks for the trying to help. Might I suggest however, that you do a search for "tanita." After reading, you might want to rethink your order.

I think you guys are missing the point. I don't care what number it gives me, if you do it everyday at the same time you should get an accurate measure if you are losing or gaining bf%. I am sure it has it's flaws, but oh well.

I can understand what your saying as it giving your a refrence point. All were saying is why spend $100 on it if you can buy some calipers for $50. And their more accurate!!!

I bought the scales and over the last week they showed a gain of 5%, even though I measured at the same time everyday, under the same hydration conditions. My weight has not budged a bit. I don't belive them at all. They aren't even showing up changes - I have done 2 DNP cycles in the last 3-4 weeks and lost 8 lbs. Now the scales show I have gained 1 %, even though my weight has gone down. Everyone knows that DNP is incredibly muscle sparing so I MUST have lost around 4% bf.

I give up with them. I might try and sell them. They aren't supposed to work for bodybuilders anyway, even on the athlete mode.

not sure calipars are more accurate

......if you consider calipars only measure substataneous fat and not intermuscular...hmmm

i find the hand held tanita scales are pretty accurate.....but the weight/fat scale you stand on are not

Thanks for the feedback on the scales. I would suggest taking a reading everyday at the same time and then averaging it for the month. You guys that are getting 26%readings must have the cheaper scales with no ability to set them up. I will get the calipers too, what the hell it is only a 100 bucks.

I got the same one's you are getting. I set it for my height, sex and athlete mode as instructed in the manual. I use them unclothed with bare feet. I am very technically aware and have operated complex top-of-the range instru, ments for many years. How dare you imply I cannot set up a simple bodyfat analyser.
