Board Running Slow And Crapy!

Green

New member
Page speeds suck royal balls!!
Links not working..

Three days and counting, when is it going to be fixed???

Does EF know there's an issue? I hate it when this site runs like a dog!

I don't know if anybody knows yet...but it does suck ass. Too slow...almost slow enough to make me get back to work.

No links...can't get here from typing a URL...What's going on????

Somebody who knows please respond. Say it once, and we'll keep it bumped.

Bump...too slow! For us 56K users this torture!

:lmao: Using 56k is torture regardless.

And actually it doesn't even matter that you're using a 56k connection. Cause the site gets so bogged down that it's super slow for me and I'm sitting on an OC-3 (the same kinda bandwidth sites like Yahoo use).

The problem is, at least with the slowness problem, is that there are too many simultaneous users and the EF server doesn't have enough allocated bandwidth to the Internet. I don't know where the server is hosted at or what kind of bandwidth they have but I can tell you that it's steadily getting worse.

They need to bump up the bandwidth, that's for sure. Get a DS-3. ;)
My bet is their on a T1. Which will DEFINITELY not hold up this summer once all the kids get on.

And as far as the links go. Just use the IP address to get on if you have problems. 209.11.101.244

Thank god someone posted something I haven't been posting for awhile because it was so slow. Atleast I know now its not my computer I was about to throw this bitch in the garbage.

theres no way in hell this site could say up on a t1.

k, maybe I'm letting the slowness of the site get to me. ;) But the most they're on is a frac T-3, probably 5megs worth.

I am not sure anyone is running this site... I have emailed George 3 times regarding a problem with the signatures not working and it is NOT fixed and no one has sent me an email or PM.

I am almost wondering if becaming a platinum member was worth it or not...

oh well... easy come... easy go... :)

I am sitting on a full T1 (hehe... my own T1... ) and this site is very slow at times... the searches are unbearable (especially if you use a boolean in query... AHHHH!!

Where is the special turbo code for the plat members? :)

im sure they have atleast a t3, even on our ds3 things arent always lightening fast

No one really knows but I highly doubt it. I don't think this site generates enough revenue to cost benefit a T-3. Who knows, maybe George makes more off that Triple Threat than I think. But in CA it's roughly $1000 per meg per month. That price includes co-lo costs.

I have a cable, but it sucks, too slow...
at nights have to wait sometimes go take a dump while waiting for the thread to open...
no kidding...

$1000 per meg...

you know how much bandwith this site proably uses, if your theory was true george whould have to be a rich man just to run a couple hours

that's a relief (kinda) I thought it was my suck-ass computer and connection. Unrelated, I do hate one other thing about this site: I can never get any work done cause I'm addicted to this freakin' site! :D

LOL My point exactly. And the $1k/meg /month isn't theory. I did a comparative analysis of all our local ISP's in the Bay Area last year and I still have all their cost sheets. Except that most went out of business.

I can colo the server for $200 - $400 per month

We are sitting on a DS3 with a ton of bandwidth available. Let me know if someone is interested.

What George needs to do is upgrade his webserver to a Pentium II and up the RAM to 128 Meg.

Then he needs to get rid of that analog line running to the server and get DSL-lite. It's only about $40 a month. And upgrade the modem in the server from 28.8 to 56k.

Then we'll be cruisin.

that would just be too fast.... ;)

I hope you are kidding . . .

The MAX upstream on any broadband product is about 384K. This is still about 5 times slower than a T1.

this site has been running like shit for a while now. we pay all this money for a good web site and its slow as hell.

LMAO!!! Yeah, strap on your seatbelt.

I'm kidding robsatx, I am the I.S. guy here at my company. Sometimes it just seems like it really is run off of a home based server. OK I'm exagerating. a little. ;)

Jus check'n bro - I work with some real boneheads

I am a network engineer and you shoudl hear some of the crap people throw at me. It is kind of like someone trying to tell one of the Mods how to juice.

I still think they should let me put it on one of our LH servers dropped on the DS3. It would rock baby!

Turning off all of the Sigs and ASvatars helps.

IMHO, these in many cases are a ridiculous waste of bandwidth. Turn them off, or if the board made them have a max size of like 2k, and everything would speed up.

But at least changing your prefs so as little of this crap shows up s possible .... will help.

One Mod (who I won't name) used to have like a 250k animated sig file. Imagine that! Imagine a thread which might have had that mod posted like 10 times in it ........... think of ll of that time wasted for our slower bandwidth bros. Luckily that mod is hardly ever on the Anabolic board.
