Me and my s/o went to this event today, his third time, my first. in all we ( he drove - i passenger cuz i'm not 25) drove 5 BMWs
540i wagon - cool as hell, a little bit heavy in tight turns
530i 4 door - felt like it shifted roughly at 20,000 miles, just didn't accelerate as good or as fast as the 540i
X5 SUV - very smooth like a car, you could just see alot more. it felt very high up even compared to other SUV's we passed. decent acceleration until about 85 then it get a bit sluggish. too turns very well.
z3 4.0L - i think it was 4.0 anyway.. well for a v6 it was very fun to drive, handled very well, light weight, neat little car. very childish interior though, sort of like a porsche boxster - just annoying.
finally, the M series coupe - not sure what it is *really* called. this was the only standard we got to drive. poor quality of the shifter, the knob actually twists around - may be it was worn out.. very tiny, felt like we were sitting in a small box. good acceleration until about 120, then we lagged our way to 125 until we had to slow down. handled very nicve, low center of gravity.
we drove all of these over 100mph for a period of time, and the 540i was still our first choice. I want one some day anyhow, not the wagon though. I want one of the 400hp ones, heheh/
