Yes and no.

I would say if your willing to spend good money (>$25) on a specific basal digital that read two places after the decimal that would be ok. The problem with digital is the temp collection time is short which can lead to inaccurate temps.

placing an old school merc under in your arm pit for 10 minutes makes for a very accurate and reproducible reading that the digitals just cant match because the sample time is so short.
