justinjones1963 New member Aug 26, 2006 #2 Higher than normal total CPK levels may be seen with conditions such as the following: * Heart attack * Myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) * Central nervous system trauma or stroke * Convulsions * Delirium tremens * Dermatomyositis or polymyositis * Electric shock * Muscular dystrophies * Pulmonary infarction (lung tissue death) Additional conditions may give positive test results: * Hypothyroidism * Pericarditis following a heart attack * Rhabdomyolysis http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003503.htm I'm sure the level will go down after being off gear for a while. Good luck bro!
