Blood pressure question

Can 1 of you ladies tell me what a low blood pressure reading would be for an athlete? And is it possible for it to be too low?

I think it's possible, but I don't know what the numbers would be....

I'm regularly 116/something....

Thanks Sassy you're the best.

I was alittle concerned because when I went the colonics, the lady took my blood pressure and she looked confused, so she checked it like 4 times and each time the numbers were about the same and she asked me if I was healthy, I said yes is there a problem, and she was like well you're blood pressure is low. I asked what it was and it was 100 over 60, I checked it today and it was about the same, so I was wondering if that was a problem or not, apparently from the chart on that link, it's ok for an athlete.

I didnt read Sassy's article, but I've just come through some problems with my own heart due to a virus, and I have a little input on this one.

I assume you were sitting, right? While that reading is low, it's not neccesarily a bad sign. Do you ever get tunnel vission immediately after standing up? If that never happens, then dont worry about the resting reading. It means your heart is able to very quickly adapt to the increased oxygen demands. If it does happen, the first thing to check is to make sure you're not dehydrated. A cardiologist told me that even if you drink copious amounts of water, you can sometimes become somewhat dehydrated if you dont consume enough salt (who would've thought, right?). Sodium is not always the enemy; it peforms a least one important function in our body. :)

What is it normally?

100/60 is about where mine is - it does dip as low as 95/50 and my body temp has always been particularly low.

I think it would be normal for your blood pressure to lower after such house cleaning. :) (I say that because from my own personal experience with the reverse - blocked = higher blood pressure and headache. Also, don't forget the change in sodium levels in your body from diet and cleaning.

Just keep an eye on it.

Thanks for your input girls :)

Vel, it's always been lower than the "norm" 120/80, when I have it checked by doctors there reaction is usually wow your blood pressure is very good. I actually had it checked my a doctor last week, follow up appointment for my wrist and he didn't seem concerned he didn't say anything so I don't even know what it was.

I don't have any problems with my vision when I stand up, the last few days since the "cleaning" I have felt alittle light headed, but also feel like my body is working more efficent, so just thought the light-headedness was from the fatburner. Before the cleaning I wasn't feeling it, it wasn't giving me any added energy, now it does, mmy energy is way up compared to how it was like last week, and anything thing, I was sweating alot more during my cardio the last few days. I did 35 minutes and I could have went another hour.

It's so weird how incredible I feel right now, I feel so wonderful in my skin right now, I can't even explain it.

I was thinking maybe my sodiu is low due to the cleaning plus I don't add salt to my food, plus diet is low in sodium foods, so I have actually started adding some sea salt to my food.

If it's always been lower and you're feeling great, I would't worry too much about it. Mine has always been low to - so has my body temp. Normal for me is anywhere from 100-120 over 60-80 and my body temp. has always been 96.5 - 96-8. Once again, it's just another individual issue.

If you're feeling great - I wouldn't think there would be cause for worry. In any case, listen to your doc.

What fatburner are you using, amiga? And this sensation you're calling "light-headedness" doesnt sound too kosher. Is it transitory or persistent?
