YOU should buy at home pressure monitor and check BP very frequent. at least daily
Unfortunately Alin, the oscillometric blood pressure cuffs sold for at home read high in my testings of them> I tested with several patients n>50 the top-rated consumer reports Omron BP cuff monitor.
It was terrible in comparison to when I took them manually.
Some ready fifty points to high
The good news is, that when they are wrong, they read high, not low. So if you get a normal blood pressure, it is a good bet it is normal and if it is consistently so.
The problem also lies in the cuff size of these at home units, with many weight lifters closing in on 20 inch arms or over like myself. An accurate reading is not possible at home unless manually with a thigh size cuff.
This problem extends to the bp machines in the stores as well, they are suited for arms about 13-16 inches. When you put a 19 inch arm in there it will read high.
Testosterone will cause fluid retention and also affect the ACE/RENIN/ALDOSTERONE system of the kidneys.
To combat that, I take an ACE inhibitor and use a low sodium diet. IF you cant limit your salt out of pure laziness or lack of regard for your health. THen you can add a diuretic to the ace inhibitor. I use an ACE inhibitor with a calcium channel blocker to decrease vasoconstriction which lowers the afterload of the heart.
Most urgent care clinics offer free bp checks, OR, we recommend just stopping by the local fire department. They will always do it for free. Keep a record over a coiuple of weeks to see the trend line.
Again, low salt, more fluids, see a doctor for an ACE inhibitor (one of the four drugs that prevent heart attacks)
