Blood pressure 170 over 120

went to Walgreens and had my blood pressure taken. It was 170 over 120. My pulse rate was 86. I lifted 45 mkinutes before and was pretty calm. She did it twice and it was about the same each time. Shightly higher the second time. How bad is this? I'm "off" right now and I'm in the process of geting everything tested to srart my cutting cycle. Is this high enough to be on meds?

It's pretty high. I once reached 172 but I was on sustanon, deca, dbols and (what a fool !) I took a viagra 4 hours before. There're many reasons for that. One thing is sure, I'd get a blood work done just to see what's the source of this.

120/80 is normal, had mine checked yesterday it was 135/80 I have had it at 170/110,cut out caffeine for a day and all stimulants Clen,Eca,ephedrine etc if you are taking it.Then go get it checked early the next morning before breakfast, then when you get the results take it from there.
Before going and getting blood pressure meds, try cutting out all sodium, cut out all stimulants,do 20 mins of cardio daily take 150mg aspirin daily. Then after a week get your BP checked again.
Stick to a good training program with cardio, clean diet, supplements, niacin is good for lowering BP it dilates the blood vessels therefore reducing the pressure.Dont start any drug cutting cycle until your BP becomes normal, get your BP checked every week.Dont drink alcohol and dont smoke if you do!
Try and normalise this situation without drugs,if all else fails, see the doc,it worked for me

Ok I bought one of those fancy digital BP monitors. I've taken it 10 times today. the average seems to be 160/92. This is much better than before. Is this still too high to start my cycle? How much does it usually jump? I won't be using any anti-e's for my own reasons. Should I add a light dose of liquidex to help control my BY. THanks guys

Don't know what more I can do besides meds. I started taking green tea adn extract, but I don't think that will drop it much. My sodium intake is as low as it can be.

Garlic extract and Flax seed oil helped me a lot.

I'm taking 2000 mg of flax in pill form a day. I'll add garlic and see if that helps. Latest reading was 153/79. It seems to be flucuating a lot. This was taken 45 min after my chest routine and 25 minutes of cardio.

Your workout is what most likely elevated it that high. The best time to take it is when you wake up in the morning. I'd bet it is a lot lower at that point. If not, I would see a doc before you stroke out.

I took it right when I woke up this morn. It was 155/79.

It shows this to be borderline. Should I see a doc. It has come way down since that first first reading. It had to be fluke. Is this really that high? I wanting to start my cycle real bad. I had to be taking BP meds at 23.

You should see a doc it could be the cuff size of the bp machine if you have larger than average arms. The doc's have a larger size cuff. You will get a more accurate reading

Yep, go see a doc. You were right about your last reading being borderline high. It is probably elevated due to water retention from your cycle. Mine does this as well and I will take a dieuretic for a few days, drop some of the water and all is fine. However it may not be the case for you, which is why you should see a Dr.

I went to the doc and he had no answer for why mi BP was higher when taken in the left arm. If I use my right it is normal, but my left is up there. Latest reading is 154/80 left 123\75 right.
I want to start my cycle bad, but I'm not yet sure if I have high BP for sure. THe reading sre so different in each arm. I have taken my BP 7 times a day for the past 2 weeks and the left is high and right is low. Could some explain this to me???? I'm stumped and so is my doc

Your doc is an idiot! Do not start your cycle if you have high blood pressure!!!!!!!! Ask your doc about Lisenopril.

I agree with all that is said, and your b/p is high, however I check mine at least once a day and have found the machines in pharmacies to be inaccurate, and constently high.

So

I have a digital B/P cup at home which gives me a much better read.

Good luck,

How is your diet?

From a cardiac perfusionist and vascular specialist standpoint, your blood pressure is too high. We are most concerned with the diastolic (or lower number) which is 120. 90 is borderline. 170/120 has the readings for hypertension. You could be doing damage to your vascular system (arteries). Keep a log and check often. You should keep a close eye on it during working out. You do not want to have a stroke. Now, 170/120 is nowhere near a stroke level, but keep an eye on it and log it down so you have a record to take with you to the doctors office. That is what I normally do with my patients before attempting hypertensive medications. You may be taking something that is raising your BP. Keep sodium levels to a minimum. Hope this helps. Geoff

Left side blood pressure is always a little higher than right side since the left subclavian (which leads to the brachial) is closer to the heart.

I would lower your blood pressure before starting a cycle. With that BP, a cycle could cause it to go up into the 200s/130s etc which could do significant irreversible damage to your vascular system.

PS: KARMA is always welcome here.

Well my steroid days are over for now. Turns out I have coaration of the aorta. Not good. Looks like I will be having heart surgery at 24. Haven't got the final results back from my MRA yet, but the doc says that is why my BP is high.
Just blame the Fina right?

Well heard from the doc today. He said he doesn't see surgey is a have to at this point. I asked him about taking light doese of steroids and he said it could kill me!! I asked him if cardic muscle reacted the same as skeletal muscle and he said no is caused heart ?? something. No more roids for me. I don't even feel like working out anymore. I know I can never be in the shape I ws once in while on

Your resting HR is 86????? ouch!

dude, drop the gear and start running. You gotta get that shit under control

I'm concerned about this as well. He said his morning BP was 155/79. Being that the lower number is under 80....isn't that good enough? Of course his doc discovered the aorta problem, so that's enough to stay away from AAS, but my low number gets in to the 90's at rest. I haven't messured under physical excertion. Should I be alerted and start checking my BP at differnt times? My blood pressure doesn't vary like his though, I've never reached 120 on the low number....that I know of.

My BP is 153/92. Checked it several times so I know it's accurate. Would this be suicide to go on test? Could I use a smaller dosage....say 250 sust a week?

Damn this sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

any update damn...

best of luck

when i was on clen a couple of months ago my blood pressure was like 179/ pulse 80....i wasnt doing cardio then though.

coarctation of the aorta can be cured by surgery if it is diagnosed early.

This is a congenital defect which causes increased BP in upper extremities and decreased BP in lower extremities. The femoral, popliteal and pedal are also weak or delayed in comparison with the carotid pulse or pulses found in the arms.

So, why did your doctor advise against surgery?

Actually BRO. your BP should be low after work out because of the vasodialation. Your BP is high. You need to go to a doc and get it under control. As you know, high blood pressure is the "silent killer." It damages the kidneys, the eyes, and other delicate structures in your body. It is not something that you want to mess around with.

PEACE

BP fluctuates over time on a daily basis.

Normaly dystolic is 120, Normal systolic is 85

I just got it measured this AM after a 1hr Bike ride averaging 25km/h.

It was 115/68 and my HR was at 117

If you DO get your BP measured by the doc ASK FOR AN XXL cuff. If your arm is greater than 13-14" in girth(Bicep/tricep), the normal cuff will give you skewed results. It measured me at 175/135. I was like LOL

Resting heart rate SHOULD be measured in the mornings along with your temperature.

Anything from 40-60 is good for resting HR.
Temp should be about 36.4C- 36.8C(Or 97.7F - 98.2F)

Use an ear thermoscan if you have one.
