bloat?hmmm....v. sodium

hey guys, i just did my 4th shot of test at 400mg

im starting to feel the "ON" feeling.


now, my friend told me my face looked a littel bloated, teasing me, because i just popped a few pimples or what not.


BUT. it did get me into thinking about my sodium intake.

i eat very clean, but i still dont know what is considered " HIGH SODIUM:"

based on my daily intake, should i like try and watch whats me sodium intake? and if so, what should it be?
 
as little as possible but still maintaining your caloric intake and protein carb fat requirements for whatever your goals are

there is salt free veggies, cottage cheese, don't add salt to anything. watch the salt, it's no good for you anyways.

One easy way 2 think of it is "if its processed, its probably high in sodium". If u buy fresh meat & fresh veggies (wash everything first) and you cook it yourself, you never have to worry about it. I talked 2 a guy a week ago who is on a very strict low sodium diet (Dr orders) and he said the only Subway sandwich he can eat that fits into his sodium allownace is a Veggie sub, and he said that one is CLOSE to his max. Crazy shit! But all the meat at those types places are processed so they stay good for long times. I still stick with everythng in moderation you be ok.

Yes do watch your sodium...foods these days are LOADED!

Very true...but you can get stuff that are low / or contain no sodium...

I read it somewhere that if you stay under 2 grams a day that will be ok, so if you like to drink G then youv'e already blew your days quota of sodium. Salt sucks. I called up the Bumble Bee tuna company and bitched at them and asked why did they even have to add sodium to their canned tuna fish. They said cause the salt makes it last like 6 years in the can. WHo cares! I'm gonna eat it within a month.

Exactly! They load shit with salt 2 make it last as long as possible. But you see they do it for the ham & eggers (no pun intended). Most people could care less about what they eat. I think the average american family goes out to eat 3 times per week. Thats the average so you know some are at 5-6. Face it, you really cant control your diet when you go out to eat. You can ask 4 certain foods in certain ways, but you still just dont know. If I go out, even if I order "healthy", I count it as a cheat day.
 
Salt is added everywhere. It's difficult to remove from your diet completely but not impossible. More and more low sodium alternatives are out there. I have high BP so to me this is something I have to watch as close as I can.

Some good advice already given in this thread but stay away from anything that is processed is a must.

What do you guys season your veggies and other stuff with? - I can't stand bland.

Are the sodium replacements / salt substitutes any better? i.e. the Potassium Chloride, etc.

Damn - I love salt. I have often wanted to get a salt lick like the fkin livestock have.
