Black stool

Posted this @ the finaboard, I thought I would get a larger response here. I usually only read/search Info here. My black stool started 4 days ago, got concerned so went to the doc today. She found occult blood in the my stool. Most likely a upper GI ulcer, But she asked me if I'm using steriod, I said no, and told me that steriods can cause a ulcer. I didn't question her, not wanting to make it obvious, but I have never heard of steriods causing an ulcer. Any body heard this before? Not sure if I should stop, just 4 weeks left, wanted to get to 250lb (242 now/12.5%).

black stools, btw, are a sign of bleeding in the upper layers of the intestine.

ps, i wish i had a trustworthy doctor. last time i went to 'my' doctor he tried to trick me into admitting to a federal crime. thank god i dont see him anymore.

you hit it right on the head. take some prescription acid meds, should help you out - aciphex, prevacid, nexium, protonix, prilosec, zantac, pepcid now otc. there are plenty to choose from, just depends on which your insurance will pay for. - good luck
