have you ever watched BET and they get those guys who put on their act for less than a minute. They speak in broken up ghetto language(ebonic's or whatever), and its like they are trying talk more ghetto. It is so pathetic.

Have you also noticed how there are people that are in the audience that laugh so hard? There is always a couple of guys in there that are falling over laughing, and the joke wasnt even that funny. I find that so amusing.

its cultural, you dont think its funny because chances are its not an experience you have had. black comedians speak on topics that effect the majority of their audience. you happened to tune in, it may not effect you, so its not that funny. the fact that the comedian uses a particular accent just adds to it. i watch benny hill or monty python and think its stupid as shit...but over in england its a riot. same thing. coming from how i grew up, i may relate more to the comedians on BET than the Jerry Seinfeld, whom i dont find funny at all.

No, there definitely are some black comedians that don't have jokes worth a shit. Definite channel flippers. And of course, you gotta know there are plenty of people in the audience shit drunk or hella high, who'd laugh at a nazi beating the pope with a stick. But then of course, there are those select few that are pretty damn funny. anyone seen kings of comedy yet? Haven't a chance to rent it... but I hear its pretty funny. Who was that white guy on BET from little man tate a while ago, who hosted stand up? He was good when he wasn't a host, then it just started getting awkward.

Most of the jokes are discriminatory towards white people, yet they are still allowed to say what they want on National television because they are black.

DL HUghley, one of my favorites, started out as the ORIGINAL host of that show,and plenty others have come through da circuit..

Uh, they make fun of white people. My friend is as far from rascist as one could get, and he has told the funniest "black person" or, dare I say, "nigger," jokes I've ever heard.

No. I know it's all in good fun. I don't laugh, but it doesn't bother me. Warik cares about black people throwing a fit when a white guy tells the "why do black people drive nice cars, wear nice jewelry, wear expensive clothes, but live in shitty houses?" joke when it's supposed to be "funny" and "meaning no harm."

At first I was merely saying that I do not like the phony speach patterns that seem to come with the job that almost all black comedians have. And I was saying how funny it is how some of the people laugh so hard on that show.

My second opinion about pressing charges does NOT mean that I am insulted by the comments that blacks make about white people. I peronally think that alot of them are true and funny as hell.

My opinion was saying that
1. Either no one is ALLOWED to make fun of everyone else.
OR
2. Everyone is ALLOWED to to make fun of everyone else.

BEcuase in this society in which we live in, If a white person says a racial remark, he is condemed. If a black person makes the same racial remark, everyone laughs.

Listen to comedians like Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor. There's real intelligence (I'm tempted to say genius) behind thier words. When I watch RAW and Eddie is going off about "crackers" I'm laughing my ass off. There's no hatred in what he's saying....it's just funny that's all.

Unfortunetly a lot of other black comedians are trying to copy what these 3 guys have done. The no-names just don't have the talent to pull it off, and they sound like total buffoons.

Yes, I admit that it is more often worse for minorities. It must be hard being judged by a few bad apples and having to bare the burden of their actions. But ALL people get discriminated against in one way or another.

I think that black comedians that appeal and direct their comedy to the "ghetto people"(ie. not chrirock, bill cosby..etc). Give black "ghetto" people a sense of pride that these people need. By putting down white people, it gives these under-educated, under-privledged blacks a sense of pride and feel better about themselves. Unfortunately, some whites tend to get offended by the continous verbal assaults on our culture. Those white who get offended say it is black comedians/black people, when it really is only the blacks who need to be reassured about themselves and need to feel better about their situations. One thing leads to another, and normal black people start thinking it is ok, but still get upset when we want to do it too.
