birthday gift help!!!

k so been dating this dude since may and things have gotten serious in last couple of months... we now train together everyday and we have a lot in common..... i had thought about making a surprise party for him but his roommates sugguested against it because they have tried in the past and said he always finds out....

I had also thought about renting a room at a bed and breakfast by the ocean but I don't want to take him away from his friends on his birthday... I am wanting to do something different so looking for some good ideas....

basics on him... loves to train, under 8% bf, is a total definition of metrosexual and has more workout clothes then you can imagine... (he is VERY picky with his clothes so buying him anything like that is out of the question)... doesn't drink, smoke, pretty much the male version of me... he is a total sweetheart so I want to do something orginal and memoriable....

I am pretty close with his boss, co-workers, and roommates so they are down to help me with whatever I need...

PLEASE HELP...
 
i always liked it when my girlfriend(s) did something for my birthday a few days away from the actual date, so that i could spend time with my family/friends on the expected day (as well as with my gf) ...otherwise i used to stress out a bit, what with everyone demanding my time. the hotel idea sounds good :)
 
hmmm... no buget really... but dont want to over do it because its a new relationship... yeah still thinking about the hotel thing I am in southern cali and there is a ton of beautiful bed and breakfast along the ocean here.. but I have done that for a past bf so think I maybe should do something different
 
wow...if that's you in your avatar...or if you look anything CLOSE to that...i'd say let him have fun during the day with his friends...don't do anything special during the day really...then at night...boy is it going down...oils...toys? if ur into that...the works...whatever you're into...he will get older with the biggest smile on his face that is a promise!

usually i buy my dad cologne every year since he's really picky too...but that's kinda boring...

what kind of hobbies is he into? fishing? basketball? cooking? anything at all like that? example: new fishing rod, cook book for dieters lol...whatever he's into he will be happy with...especially if you give him that late night gift i mentioned before :verygood:

yeah that is me in the avi.. but believe it or not he is WAY prettier than I am.. he also does modeling and has a body to die for... I am not kidding as soon as he takes his shirt off I get wet... it fucken ridiculus!!!

like I said we train together so we regularly take showers together, massage one another, and we diet together so we always cook together... and the bedroom is another form of cardio for us so that is a given that will happen already but want something else special for his b-day because he is a little sad about turning 29...

he has more cologne then a store like I said METROSEXUAL to the T... if that word ever gets in the dictionary I am so not kidding his picture will be beside it... he knows more about skin care then I do, that's a little sad heehee

he is orginally from philadelphia and loves his hometown more than anyone should.. so thought about taking him home... but he already has a work trip planned and his boss is sending us on vacation as well... so that is to much traveling in one month already...

he loves baseball, (one of his friends took him to the 3 philly games here in san diego this past weekend), loves football, loves the beach, gym, movies.....

damn...you're HOT...girls like you keep me motivated to lift and look the best i can...lucky guy... :p ANYWAYS...before i daydream...hmmm i was thinking of a way to combine beach/football/working out - maybe set up a barbecue at the beach with a bunch of friends over...some ladies can tan out n gossip or take a dip (they have fun) and the guys can play tackle football in the sand (they grunt and have fun) - then food's done everyone eats (buncha meat won't ruin the guy's diet since you can get a buncha lean strips of steak or whatever for him to maintain a healthy but tasty meal :) )

this is the best thing i could think of on such short notice...hope it helps...unless you want to take em to a baseball game (he'd enjoy but it wouldn't be anything extraordinary) - if i was a guy (i am) and into football (i am) and likes HOT women in bikinis (i do) and likes barbecue (i do) - that sounds like a HELL of a time - and its cheap but probably funner than anything you could waste a couple hundred doing...

that is a good idea.... we leave near pacific beach and that is where all the young people hang out... i could get the roommate etc to help... there are horseshoe pits there too and you can drink on that beach, so everyone can be happy.....and I know everyone will be down...

gifts...hmm...you could get em some sports memorabilia (sp?!) if hes really into baseball and football that's probably your best bet...maybe an autographed ball or jersey from a favorite player of his or something...i don't know if he'd be into that kinda thing...i'm not THAT big a sports fan so i wouldn't be too excited to get that but he might...lol...if i was you i'd just spam on ebay searching for SOMETHING you think he'd like...at my house we got a lazyboy chair about a yeat and a half ago...best purchase EVER...the most comfortable thing ever...after a workout and my shower...it's heaven...maybe if he doesnt have like a really comfy lounging place (besides the bed) you could get em 1 of those...(random gift but he'd probably like it) - you're right next to a beach...n hes fit...you might wanna get em a surf board if hes interested at all in learning? unless you know for a fact he wouldn't be into that...i don't know just thinking of random stuff now sorry still lookin at the avatar :p

(thought of that too) he is into watching sports and playing them but signed shit I know he will just say I wasted my money.... he doesn't have room for any more furniture and is going to be moving in decemeber... and he is also going to be buying a new car I had thought about giving him something for his car but he is selling it....

guys are so difficult to buy for!!! girls there are a million and one things you can buy for us but dudes there isn't much....

just be creative, do something thoughtful.

a night in any hotel, doesn't have to be a B&B, would be nice.

The Ritz Carlton on the beach in Laguna Beach/Dana Point is super nice.

so true...if my b-day was right now i'd have no idea what i'd want...probably sex :p and money and a texas hold em' poker chip set :) - which i would use to invite buddies over to win MORE money from :) - hes already getting the best sex ever...and money would be an odd gift...n i don't know if he likes poker :verygood: - good luck with your gift search courtney...let me know if hes happy with his gift :D or hated it :mad: (in which case you can blame me and say i'm the loser that suggested it so he can think im dumb and a loser and not get mad or disappointed with YOU - take 1 for the team) - hey if the sex is the best he's ever gotten he will completely forget about the gift...trust me... :p

I would say just keep simple but dude sounds high mantainence... Instead of a bed and b-fast, how about a 2 day camping trip. Take him out of his element a little. I took a high mantainence chick camping once and she loved it.

How about a couples day at the Spa? They have couples massages, then some fine dining, and a walk on the beach followed by a quiet evening in a suite... stocked with yummy things to enjoy... *wink*

ok i was 2 posts away from this one and this exact idea popped into my head. it sounds like he likes the spa type treatment. now i know you may not like shareing him in the bed and i do not recommend it this early on in the realtionship either but giving him a day at a spa is a great idea. do you live together at all, spend time at his place? snoop around and see what he doesnt have. i dont mean look through all his drawers and snoop the computer, but just have a good look around and see what he doesnt have that he might really can use. did he ever point something out at any time and say wow that would be cool. these are the things you have to look out for. believe me, if you were with me, just a simple hug would suffise since i would already have the best thing a man can get.... thats you. just dont go too overboard, you have been dating a short while and you dont want to look like you trying to hard to impress and keep him. thats a sign of insecurity. i know how it is to turn 29, i just turned 30 a little bit ago and it does suck. now if your still with him when he is 30 thats a whole other story. now your talking limo rides, strippers, club VIP, the works. lol..... at leased thats what i got and i loved it. i would say it was a night to remember but i cant remember much. allthough after waking up in the hotel i could add 2 and 2 and pretty much tell what happened. we went through 8 bottles of yager at the room alone and yea it got a bit crazy after that. i do remember being on a dance floor the spun around while you danced at universal studios florida pleasure island and being surrounded by multiple woman who we woke up with.

anyway, i am getting off track, thats next year girl. but keep it simple this time around. like you said you did the b&b for other bf's and allthough i can imagine what went on, its probably not a good thing to repeat. if we dont learn from history we are doomed to repeat it.

I was going to suggest something like this. If he is a metrosexual, into skin care, etc, he would probably enjoy a few spa treatments.

i was going to suggest something like a spa day but i'm not sure he would be into it...the guy thinks SURFING is gay...how would he feel about getting a manacure (sp) and pedicure and his head wrapped in a towel etc...even if he is a total metro...he might feel kinda gay and not have a good time...you know him better than we do though courtney so if hes into that boom sounds like a great gift

she said he was into skin care and such. i think he might like it. i just love the messages. i go to the message school and get them for free. some of those chicks are HOT!!! and you can pick and choose who you want.

yeah the spa visit sounds like a great idea!!! I can give him a gift certificate for it so I dont have to try to figure out his schedule and he can go when he feels like it... I talked to him about the beach bbq today and he got all excited so thank you for that idea too... his b-day is sept 4 so everyone will have monday off... I think that will be perfect for everyone... He loves the beach and would probably sleep over there if he could so we can just hang out at the beach all day and peeps can come and go as they please.. his house isnt far so his roommates and I can just walk back if we need anything else... woo hoo
