He did not make statements of disagreement with the US he called the US and its military cowards. I wish this was back during the reign of the Roman Empire. This situation and all like him as well as the terrorists would already have been dealt with.

nuff said.

From what I've heard of his statements, taken in context, they were aimed at the man making the decisions. That, of course, would be Bill Clinton. He didn't have the balls to call him out though. What a Hollywood shocker!!

I agree, lots of people are reactively blowing off steam. On the other hand, I have also wondered how in hell spending several years in preparation for killing yourself by flying a huge airplane into a skyscraper is cowardly. It is many things but cowardice isn´t a word that quite fits. Nor, under the ideology of the jihad, is it stupid.

Perhaps we can say it is immoral by most of the world´s secular standards.

Wow, what a little bee's nest this has become.

First of all, to put up a few of the lines from the show is wrong. Read the entire transcript before you pop off with your insults, comments and heated suggestions.

Maher throws out topics and lets the people in the forum debate them. While someof his topics have been boring - the WTC bombing show [and the re-runs] got some nice percentage points.

I hate to say it - but most people who present points or topics on this board only present one side of the issue. Two sponsers may have pulled out - but tons of other ones have taken their place. [some of those companies include Oscar Meyer, Chevrolet and Iams pet food]

Someone said that what he said offended those that served in the military. I served in the military and I wasn't offended. If actions were taken about 8 years ago when Bin Laden was visible - we would have never had the WTC bombing.

While some of you might call for Maher's head on a stick and sent little letters to the network - so you honestly think any amount of public outcry is going to get him off the air? Sorry, that isn't what it's all about - it's all about money and if people are watching the show that means money.

Everyone needs a big fat dose of valium and a thorazine chaser. If you think you can do a better job - get your own show on cable access instead of sitting on Elite and being a cyber-toughguy.

You simply don't like Bill Maher b/c he puts the right wing conservative radicals, like yourself, in their places.

He has the right to his opinion. Go Bill!!!! I don't agree with his opinion on this issue, but in 95% of the cases he's right in almost everything he says.
I wasn't sure of it but this pushes it over the edge.

You couldn't possibly be for real or believe any of the stuff you have been putting up Ryan. I think there are better ways to get a point across than to incessantly play the Devil's advocate. This "straw man" thing of yours has gone too far in that your straw man no longer lacks the credibility necessary to ellicit responses from those intelligent enough for you to desire a response from. Try again.

Shrebly, just got a problem with what "little letters" implies. It suggests that we "lil letter writers" are naive and feckless.

But our power to change anything really is ... well, miniscule. Does that mean don't let your voice be heard? Hell no! Maybe the aggregate effect of the tiny voices (or "little letters") will register with someone in power, somewhere.

But even if it doesn't, still make whatever noise you want. You could argue that our one "little votes" don't matter either. On some level, sure that's true. But c'mon....

If a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it, this is a case where it still falls. 'Cause, you know, the tree knows. Or something. (Sorry, it's early.)

I believe everything I write.

If you don't like what you see, simply don't read it.

It's that easy.
