True it DOES take two to concieve (I am not disputing this)....and yes, I am sure that with rapidly advancing technology someday there will be as little necessity for a woman to carry and give birth as there CURRENTLY is necessity for a woman to actually have sex with a man in order to become pregnant.
In other words......yes, the male is important...actually the male sex cell - NOT THE MALE HIMSELF, but you do need BOTH the female sex cell AS WELL AS THE FEMALE in order to procreate. Get what I am saying?
Biologically it is just the way it is......
Personally, I believe that making the baby is by far, THE EASIEST PART and even carrying and giving birth are a cakewalk compared to the rest of that child's life - for this, I believe, the more help BOTH parents have - THE BETTER!
As for the ignoramous who thinks that women are "stuck carrying the bastard for 9 months".....you have SERIOUS ISSUES. Is it that growing up YOUR MOTHER made you feel as though you were the bastard that she got stuck carrying?
If pregnancy and childbirth were so awful I would NEVER have had four....and yes, ALL FOUR WERE PLANNED. As a matter of fact only the fourth was conceived without the use of fertility drugs. Does this mean that my children's lives are any more valuable than the children who were "surprizes"? HELL NO! EVERY HUMAN LIFE IS PRECIOUS.....even yours - the_one or R Green or whoever the hell you are at this moment in time.
My original comment was not meant to offend any one (If it did, I do apologize). I realize it does sound female chauvenistic, but we can not change biology. Not just yet, anyways.
