Bigmann and school

I'm trying to talk bigmann into skipping school 2day so he can hang out with us EFers. He goes to school 5 days a week. He's a smart guy.He can miss ONE day.

Highschool or college? If it's college - nope. Go to class. I think I skipped class once in 4 years, and I was DEFINITELY never a nerdy type of student. But skipping a class usually created so much friggin drama and follow-up that you end up doing more work than if you just bucked up and went to class in the first place.

I agree. I hardly miss class, plus my day feels so much more productive when I learn something. I love being a sheep sometimes.

Plus, nothing pisses a teacher off more than someone skipping class. It's fuckign pointless. I know it's tough when you live in the college world, but still, it ends up hurting you more than you think. I can't even count the times I went to class drunk as shit from the night before or even blazed up (I went an entire semester waking up at 7am, blazing with my friend, then going to Spanish at 8am) just cause I didn't want to miss class.

i dont want to goooooooo..... i have to be there in 15 minutes...

I look forward to rubbing one out before every 8:30 AM class.

Sometimes it's all about the incentives.

I've missed 2 college classes over the year. Once because of a car accident and the other because of an emergency hair color appointment.

I don't think they're worth missing. People pay way too much to be skipping classes. Plus it's iffy to rely on someone elses' notes.

Maybe im just nuts but I never really took a ton of notes.Maybe because I was a chemistry major and we learned most of our important stuff in lab classes but I NEVER skipped lab.Hell no.

I'm inclined to agree about chemistry lectures. I always went to them but I tended to learn it better on my own. My best bet was to read all of the material before class and get an understanding of it. Then lecture made more sense.

True.So true.If I didn't read the lectures b4 class the teacher just confused me.I mainly went to lecture to find out what we were expected to know- then I studied on my own or with friends.I loved lab.Labs were fun.I never missed lab.Plus, each lab assignment was worth a TON of points so it would have killed my grade if I skipped lab.

I think chemistry is something you kind of have to wrap your mind around too. It's so abstract in a lot of ways. I had a prof who didn't lecture well because it was so 2nd nature to him that he just assumed you understood. I like organic chemistry a lot more. Organic chem is fun.

yep.Exactly how I feel about it.I was able to skip through all of the bullshit and just learn what counts.I had a 3.8 in college and that's damn good if u consider I was working about 50 hours a week as a medic at the same time.I worked all night as a medic then went straight to school.I slept before work on the weekends and I caught a lot of naps.Thanx for the sarcastic compliment.Be a good bro.Are u still bothered about that shit from last week...let it go,man. There are bigger problems in the world.Believe me.Have a good time here. It's all about making memories..... :)

Exactly how I feel.Organic chem was the best.

You just now noticed that? Perhaps you should have read the night 'b4'. lol

i find it tough sometimes to drag my ass to class at night. I wish I never missed, but I will prolly miss one or two classes per semester. wake up at 4:30--work at 6. work till 3ish, go home, nap or work out depending on the day, then class from 6:30 to 10. by the time i get home i am drained. I swear i get more tired being stimulated during my classes than being at work. Only like 7 more years of this crap.

Good question--sadly i am pretty much grown up at 27...

brief story:

College for 3 yrs, left and joined the army. Got out, and have been back in school for a year. Not all credits transferred (awful) and I need at least 60 from my new school to graduate with honors. Soooo I will have accumulated a hell of a of credits that I don't need by next fall (should be done), but just want to graduate with honors.

I need good grades to pursue psychology at NYU, hence the urgency for graduating with honors. Columbia is just too $$$.

I prolly wont begin my masters till spring 07, then my phd following. all in all maybe not 7 years, but at least they give me that long to get my doctorate.

one day i assume my hard work will pay off
