Since you are on, can I ask you a question that I think should be asked and the answer could benefit many members.

As a site administrator and employee of EF, what are your thoughts on the "side boards" that popped up the last couple of days. Basically fly by night boards that many EF members go to so that they can talk shit about other EF members. A site where someone can sign up as an alter and basically say anything and claim it as fact.

Personally, I have signed up and posted on both of them. However, as a lifetime member here I would not want to do anything to jeapordize my status on my "home" board. By status I do not mean popularity, I mean my standing in the eyes of site admin (am I allowed to post here, etc).

Thoughts?
 
just want to get BRR's thoughts as site admin on the matter.

Although I have no idea why anyone would go to another board to talk about people on this board. It all seems kind of trashy.

I understand that point of view, an the purpose of this reply is not to argue with you.

But I also sympathize with the peopel who come on here, see that threads are deleted or locked, and see 50% of a story, and it looks like it is interesting, and they are dying to know the rest. I think the site was created to fill in those who didn't catch something. Is it wrong, is it right? I can't say. Is it interesting, yes.

You criticize needto's board by saying people are immature and petty to go there yet jump right into the discussions held HERE ON EF about the same shit.

With the exception of 5000, everyone had their EF username on needto's board.

while I'm just as guilty as the rest on certain occasions when it comes to ambulance chasing, I sometimes feel that it's not my business to begin with. Having another site just so I can nose furthur into someone elses business...well, I have mixed feelings on that.

during the radar scandal, we all spent a lot of time on MM discussing what we couldn't here because our threads kept getting deleted. it was a good thing, and I'm glad they let us post there. It seems to me, though, that these other boards are popping up simply so people can talk trash without any basis for it. i'd rather just talk trash here for everyone to see.

No disrespect intended, but feeling a little guilty are we? Perhaps a little nervous you may get in trouble talking about EF members on another board?

Personally, if you felt it was right to sign on the other board, then you shouldn't have to justify yourself to the board or an admin/mod. Stay true to yourself and you won't stray far.

I'll freely admit to being on both. I'm mostly out of all this, so I have nothing to say to anyone on either side...not yet, at least.

in some cases it really is stupid to say certain things here.

For example, if you hate the newletters and what not from george spellwin, that is a perfectly valid opinion, but to post it here would be wrong. Why? Because this is a business, and marketing is a part of that business, and to talk trash about it in public could turn people away.

Same goes for sponsors. There was shit posted on that board about a member here who is also a sponsor and makes money from this site.

Now whatever personal beef these people have, I do not think the intent was to hurt this guy's business, no one wants to affect his paycheck. Posting the info on here might do that, posting it elsewhere is still degrading, but at least wont affect his bottom line.

Only problem with that is that all the degrading posts end up back here anway.

I don't think the other board was a big deal. I didn't sign up but read a few things or two. It was more for humor than for insulting if you ask me.
 
We think it is a great idea to be able to talk about EF drama on another forum. It keep EF cleaner, it lets the members run a little wild and takes the bullshit and responsibility off our lap and on to other forums. I’m fine with that.

What I don’t agree with is the two-facing and alter posting going on. If you have something to say then stand by it. If you dislike somebody just let it be known.
If you dislike me then just say it. I have a thick skin and a long tongue, I’ll go up against anybody who wants to step up and say something about me. I’m not going to fuck with your account just because you have something mean to say about me. When people attack me, I don’t delete posts or edit them… I quote them and fire back. Using MY name and standing behind my own shit.

So: Go over there and say something nasty about me. The come back here and make it known you don’t like ME…. We are straight. I know where you stand and I’m not going to fuck with you. I will treat you as any other customer and address your issues within the parameters of my job description never going any further either way…..
But for you to butter me up here, sending me PMs and Karma messages about becoming a Mod, or a special favor or support when you are a FREE member…. And/Or asking for help with drama, only to go to another forum and tell people you don’t like me… That’s just wrong and petty (it was done to me)… And you know what… I still will not Ban you or fuck with your account. Because I’m cool like that. But I will note it, I will remember it for when the time comes… Because sooner or later you are going to be in front of me with another member having a dispute… Just know that my mind will be made up before I even hear the issues.


LOL thru the IPs that were picked up from the forum that got deleted I seen 6 Bitches (yes Bitches) talk negatively about us (EF Administration) (two of them using using Alters)… I went to check their billing status and sure enough, 4 of them are COMPED Plats… We give them Plat access for FREE. Yet they have the nerve to talk shit about us. If you don’t agree with the way we run the site, but want to remain here for your friends… That’s OK… Juts send me a PM and say “Hey Rick, I’m mad at you guys, but I want to still be here and talk to my friends. Take away my Free Plat and keep me as registered. I don’t want to receive anything from you guys for free because you are slime balls and I hate you. ” -------- That I can actually respect… The back stabbing and sideward attacks I can’t
Now I could be petty and just set them bitches back to register or flat out ban them… But as I have seen on this forum many times, the spineless worms will just PM me about it with an apology and tell me they won’t do it again. LOL

So I won’t name them or put them on blast. I’ll make a note of it and just wait. Wait until they get into some serious drama against another member, then I will leverage off the situation and completely fuck them by taking the other person’s side (even if I don’t agree with them). Then maybe "comped" plat needs to be reviewed. People who are comped their status don't have stake in EF, (besides thier reputation).

We are not that well organized. The last time I heard from Digger was on an e-mail he sent everybody in the office. It was a general e-mail with an article about virtual economies (like Karma) and ideas for the Karma store. Other than that, him and I rarely talk enough to be accused of working in concert.
