This is an older post of mine:
Here is the thing with the abcesses. When you stay on a long cycle you can greatly reduce your white blood cell count. Thus, increasing your chance of infection because the body fights them off with white cells. I have had three abcesses so my knowledge of this came at a painful price. I have one very bad scar on my thigh. That one had over 300 ccs of puss that had to be removed. It was the size of a grapefruit. Now the intial swelling can often be caused by the body reacting to benzyl alcohol. This swelling may disipate. If it does disipate watch for a small hard spot in the area. Keep watch to see if it increases in size. If it does start to get bigger it will grow exponentially and in a week you could be in the same boat as me. If the redness stays and it is hot to the touch for more than 5 days, I would get a dr. to look at it. If you have to do that be sure to tell them it is an injection site and you are on juice. Don't make them figure it out.
To give you some comfort, I should tell you that I have had maybe a hundred or so injections that swelled up terribly and were very sore. Of those three turned into abcesses. All my abcesses were from winstrol which is water based and this increases the posibility for such an ailment.
I have found a way to make the swolen injection site(non abcess) decrease and reduce the pain. Ice pack for 45 mins and then heat pad for 45 mins. Do this repition at least three times. This has worked for many of my cohorts in the same situation

Heating pad and rub the shit out of it for at least 15mins..... Do that 6 times per day if you can, and it should help..... If it's too far gone, you'll know, and i would go to the ER personally..... This way you can be honest with the Doc about AAS use, cause you don't know him..... Also, you know as an ER doc, he's seen 100 worse things then your abcess problem.... It can be pricey, but they give you a fair assessment of how bad it is, and if it will need to be drained.... I had 1 abcess scare, that spread to my Lympnodes, and was causing slight cellulitis in my arm.... I had red streaks running down my arm, and it was freaking me out..... They gave me a shit load of IV anti biotics, sent me home with oral anti biotics, and I was fine in like 4 days..... Try the heat and massage, and see how it looks.....

I just had a scare myself. I got lump in glute that ran down leg. It was painful. I let it go for a week. I eventually got Cellulitus. This is bad JuJu. Make sure your are putting moist heat on it. Take a towel and get it wet. Put it in Microwave for a few minutes, then put it on spot. Do this at least 3 times a day. If it stays red and swollen and starts spreading down your leg, go see the doc. If you get Cellulitus like me the only way to cure is antibiotics.
Don't screw around with it, the infection can fuck you up really bad. You can come up with some excuse to tell the Doc. Say you sat on something. Regardless, watch it close if it gets redder or spreads, go to Doc right away.

i have had them swell up pretty big and get hot and even streak a little, but always goes down in less than a week, maybe 4 days max... 
...not to say you are completely safe to say youre free from an abcess though... id personaly see a doctor after 1 week for sure..

Some great advice here. My first three injections were less than 3 weeks ago and every one had it's unique hellish experience. I will never try Sustanon again for sure. My first injection I should have gone to ER but I waited it out and 5 days later it started going down. I had classic symptoms of an infection. My hamstring was very swollen, redness around injection site that started to run down the side of my leg. Unbelievable pain. I rode it out and did my second injection and had nearly the same experience without the redness.
So this week I trashed my sustanon and did my first glute shot in the ass with Test enthatate. believe it or not it's day 7 since that shot and I still have a lump on my ass that is painful. It's slowly going down and i do believe this was a sterile abcess. This shit is driving me mad bro! Anyway, if you're a newbie my recommendation is to watch it closely and monitor your temperature. I am SOOO glad I didn't go to ER. My wife nearly made me. Here are a few things as a newbie you have going against you:
1. Virgin muscles to juice. As you inject more often you'll get less swelling/irritation.
2. Benzyl Alcohol, Test Prop, etc. Your body isn't use to these compounds and it's possible to get sterile abcesses from these.
3. New to injecting. I now use heating pads afterwards, massage area and also warm vial in water prior to injecting.
* I've only been able to lift 5 days in 3 weeks and I've actually added a 1/8 inch to my guns and i'm getting huge. Just brushing my teeth I get an unreal pump. I always try to see the positive in life and maybe this was just time to rest my rotor cuffs and joints and i can't complain about getting bigger. I think just wanking it can add mass to my forearms at this rate. I'm not a pro yet. In fact every injection thus far has been a royal pain in my ass. No pun intended. I appreciate the help the veterans have given me. Hope this helps.

Its not Sostenon that you should avoid. It is the benzyl alcohol that you have to worry about it. I have had bad pain and swelling from every product out there. It is usually the underground stuff that does it.
