Bicep Spasms?

I have had this problem for a few months now from time to time. I will lift in the afternoon or evening and when I get back to my place and I have hung around for a few hours and night has fallen, I get these aweful bicep spasms. If I bend my arm at the elbow, my bi contracts as it normally should, but then when I extend my arm outward again, my bi does not relax. My bi will stay contracted for several seconds, no matter how far I extend my arm, and then it will "pop" into the relaxed position. This can be rather painful, although certainly not unbare-able. My question though is whether this is normal to have happen or might I be deficent in some important muscle nutrient, like zinc or magniesium or something.
-Thanx, Mark

Friday afternoon I rushed to the gym to lift before I went to the movies with my wife. During the movie both biceps were firing like crazy during the movie. That was new to me. I suspect it's due to extreme stress to the muscle.

It sucks, I have been lifting for 4-5 years now, but it only started this year. I did pretty serious bi workouts in the past too. Whats the difference? Why now? Any more info guys?

sounds kind of like long muscle craps to me...i am actually getting them in my chest as we speak...and i get them in my bi's. doesnt sound serious to me.

I'll get twitches in my muscles occasionally. I asked for a number of opinions and the consensus says its from a potassium deficiency. However, your's sound a lot more violent (for lack of a better word), so take this advice with a grain of salt.
