bicep pain!

Any time I curl heavy or do pullups, I get pain in the pit of my elbow. Where the bicep meets the forearm. Only on one arm. The pain seems to be lasting longer each time. I'm aware that I'll have to alter my routine or lay off for awhile, but I was wondering if any of you have had similar issues or injuries.

If so, how long did they last? What did you do to speed up recovery?

I have that same pain. Not sure exactly what it is but I think it may just be that I strained my bicep. It hurts when I bench heavy too! It's been hurting fairly constant for about 2 weeks now and I'm going to the dr. to see what's up, soon

Yeah, I feel it when I do dumbbell bench presses as well. Post up your findings after seeing the doc.

Most likely a tendonitis. If that's the case, a steroid injection (corticosteroids, not anabolic) might do the trick and speed up recovery.

but won't a cirticosteroid only mask the pain but not actually help repair or recover??? I think it might be that once i started on my cycle i gained too much too fast and possibly did some tearing..

If you truly have an injury, then yes, a corticosteroid injection won't help you. Only rest will help that.

If, however, you have a tendonitis, then the inflammation is treated with a corticosteroid injection.

Only a physical exam by a physican, preferably someone trained in sports medicine, can determine what you have. It might be an injury, or it might be a tendonitis. Anabolic steroids and heavier-than-usual weights can increase your risk of both injury and tendonitis.

Good advice bro, thanks.

Itrained back and biceps today. This time I skipped the pullups and just did pulldowns. for biceps I did dumbbells only. Seems to be much less painfull, just slightly sore.

i have a bit of the elbow tendon stuff too. i never do any type of curls. i heard hammer curls help with this, is this true or am i confusing it with something else?
