Best protein?

Tell me which protein has worked best for you. Include info on taste and sugar content if you can.
I haven't tried too many but I like Designer (chocolate) the best. Tastes good and worked well for me. 17.5 g of protein per scoop and less than 1 g of sugar!

The best protein is in chicken. After that fish. But I assume you meant whey protein. I use M Double You Whey Protein, vanilla flavour. It tastes good in yogurt, never tried anything else though.

back when i used supps, i usually got 5-10 lbs of milk isolate from protein factory, it was cheap, with trace amounts of lactose. Don't know the price per lb, since I haven't bothered to look.

The best protein, in supplement form, is Cross Flow Microfiltration Whey (TM). It has no fat, no sugar and no lactose. The sodium levels are also much lower than standard Whey Isolate.

This will likely be replaced in the next few months though with Bioactive Fraction Whey Protein but probably only amongst serious trainers, due to its price.

I use the cheap shit Allthewhey or Optimum nutrition.I am going to try the stuff at Cosco next wich is even cheaper.

Gotta agree, it's so f*ckin expensive to keep buying that I go for the cheap shit too.

I do my protein like this:

Morning - Optimum On 100% Gold Standard Whey with 2% milk.

I like the taste of optimum - it's cheap - it has some isolates and it has lactase and other digestive enzymes, no fructose/sugar. I've used rocky road, chocolate and vanilla - all very good - but beware of cookies and cream - it has fructose and the cookie part contains iron - although I assume it's trace amounts, but it's listed.

Eggs - lean meats - tuna/salmon throughout the day

Post Workout - Optimum On 100% Gold Standard Whey

Bedtime - Optimum 100% casein with 2% milk before bed - so hopefully the casein stays in the system throughout the night.

Anyway - I've tried a few caseins but Optimum for me tastes the best, disolves the best and has the most to offer while at my price point.

Have to agree here - ON tastes the best with good ratios, price is fairly good compared to others that taste like ass.

what are your guys thoughts on Nito-Tech protein supplements...?

i had good results with this stuff 2 years ago when i was hitting it hard... i have a hard time drinking the stuff if it tastes like the crack of a fat womans ass after she chased down a burger... so taste is important to me... :D

Assuming taste isn't an issue, then buying a commercial powder is just a waste of money. Magical "proprietary" blends are marketing BS and as long as your protein source is dairy or egg you're getting a "perfect" protein with a score 1.0 on the PCDAAS, which the generally accepted standard for protein quality. I prefer to purchase a bulk milk isolate and I've posted the reasons on multiple threads. If you go to the manufacturer you can get a high quality milk isolate for under $4.00 a pound.
