Best post workout meal

I know you are suppossed to get alot of carbs after working out cos your glycogen stores are low and obviously you need protein. I just wondered what you guy eat after a hardcore training session.
 
eat good stuff!

get a good amount of protein..and get some hi gi carbs in there to make an anaboli insulin rush and get the good stuff into your muscles where it needs to go.
 
protein drinks are best as they are very quikcly digested.


high g.i foods may enter the bloodstream fast but they still need a good 1-2 hours for your stomach to break down.

After a workout you typically need protein, carbs and limited fat (slows digestion). Carbs should be easily digested sources, for example, if you chose to drink a shake, make sure it has enough maltodextrin.

the ala would help with the uptake of glucose into muscle cells.

I would recomend taking whey isoltate with dextrose or malto dextrin. Then 1 to 1.5 hours later eat a "normal" bb meal
