Best place to find travel deals?

I am going to New York for a week in August.

I need flights from San Diego and a hotel to stay in for 5 nights. August 5-10.

I know there are a ton of travel sites with package deals and what not, any suggestions for the best deals?

Anyone have any ideas on what part of town to stay in?

If any NY EF bors or borettes are around that time maybe we could meet up and slam a protein shake together.

priceline is bar none the cheapest... most risk of getting something you don't want though, so read carefully

the last time i bought tix on line to go any where i went to cheapairplanetickets.com i think it might be owned by priceline but check it out...there are e few good places to get tix just do air plane tickets in your search engine.

I'd use priceline for the hotel. Start bids low because you should get a good deal on a NYC hotel in August. Try for a midtown location as that puts you in the heart of the city. Bars restaurants tourist stuff, etc. NYC is not that big and easy to walk, take subway, cabs, etc.

I've never bought an airline ticket from Priceline.
I do try and fly northwest when possible because for a small fee you can upgrade to 1st class and can do this on internet.
